2015 FORD FUSION Complaints

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH, the steering wheel seized, with the power steering assist fault and two other unknown messages displayed on the instrument panel. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering) which she linked to the failure. Both the dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure, and both stated that the vehicle was not under recall. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while reversing at his residence there was an abnormal sound coming from the steering wheel while turning. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving to his destination. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the steering gear bolt and assembly to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called a local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and informed the contact that NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering) repair was completed by the previous owner. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

My sun visor came off when I went to put it down while I was driving which almost led to a car accident on the highway. The one in my passenger side is doing the same thing.

The dealer related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 19-2139 (1.5L Eco-boost - Low Coolant, White Exhaust Smoke and/or Illuminated Mil - Built On Or Before 10-Jun-2019) however, the vehicle was not covered under the TSB. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the warranty had expired. The failure mileage was approximately 131,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while making a turn, the steering wheel became stiff without any warning. As a result, the contact crashed into a parked vehicle and the front fender was damaged. The contact shut down the vehicle and when the contact restarted the vehicle, the steering wheel was still stiff, the traction control warning light illuminated, and the steering loose stop safety warning message illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 108,000.

The contact added more coolant, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not under recall The failure mileage was 117,000.

The power steering assist and several other unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the steering gear motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign: 19V632000 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

Knocking sounds started happening when turning steering wheel. Confirmed by independent mechanic and Rodman Ford dealership to need power steering rack/electric motor. Recall for this problem on other 2015 Ford fusions but my VIN is not included. I have been told this is a serious safety issue and it should be covered.
