2013 FORD FUSION Complaints

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that over the past few months, the steering wheel had become loosened and would move abnormally while driving at various speeds without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was referred to a dealer for assistance. The contact notified the dealer of the failure and was referred to the manufacturer. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The drivers side door showed it was latched there weren’t any lights saying that the drivers side door was open or any other door was opened. I was driving and turning left and all the sudden my drivers side door flew open and struck objects on the side of the road people had placed out for garbage pick up. My safety was put at risk by my drivers side door coming open while I was driving. I started to pull over but by the time I was almost stopped my drivers side door came swinging back and I had my hand out to catch it , it smacked into my left hand bending my wrist back and shoving my elbow in my arm into my side causing excruciating pain. My drivers side door has dents a scratches in it from the objects it smashed into and I have pain in my left fingers and hand and wrist and arm hurts along with the side of my abdomen from being crushed into my side. I also had my head leaning towards the door so when it came flying back at me it hit my head hard. I ended up vomiting and feeling extremely anxious and scared and dizzy I was very stunned. I had shut and closed my drivers side car door and there wasn’t any lights indicating any doors in my vehicle were still open. My 2013 ford fusion se had been taken in for several recalls the door actuators where amongst several I had the dealership inspect and they were supposed to have fixed them. I haven’t driven the vehicle since I plan to take it into the dealership and get it checked out. I need make a police report and am calling my auto insurance company in the morning to let them be aware of the issue as well. There weren’t any warning lamps or messages until after the driver side door came open. There is now a warning light on my dashboard. And the lights on my dashboard started flickering. It first happened March 1, 2022.

Went to the grocery store and put the grocery's in the rear passenger area. The door failed to latch properly and had to drive home very slowly. As it was every time we turned, the door would come open.

My vehicle has every problem that has been reported and recalled, however my vehicle isn't listed on the recall list. Could this be a mistake? Could my vehicle oddly have all the same engine coolant levels, advance trac, power steering, engine overheating issues, as the ones recalled but not actually been recalled?

I was traveling with my family and a light came on the dash. I pulled over to check my manual and it said it was a power steering fault. Once I started my car again the power steering was completely gone and I had to drive 10 hours back home with no power steering which was extremely hard for someone who has never driven a vehicle like that. I seen online there was a recall for 23 ford fusions but of course mine isn’t on the list. I found 177 complaints on this and I don’t understand why this is not a recall. If this had happened while driving I could have been seriously injured or killed or harmed another life. Please take that into consideration!

The contact used bricks to chock the wheel. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed; however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V471000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact's daughter reported that the temperature gauge was showing a high engine temperature. The contact's daughter safely pulled over. The contact said that there was white steam coming from under the hood. The contact stated that her husband picked up the vehicle with a vehicle trailer and towed the vehicle back to the residence. The contact later drove the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with an engine coolant leak. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

The contact stated that the failure increased in intensity whenever he shifted into a higher gear. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road, turned off, and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle at slower speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the PCM was reset and the transmission oil was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact also stated that the failure would occur whenever the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaking gasoline and was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the fuel injectors. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 125,000.

The contact stated that excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle while driving home. The contact then called the dealer where she was informed that her vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V232000 (Steering). The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

The power steering failed while driving almost hade an accident a lot of people complain with the same issue this is in on going with this model!
