2014 FORD FUSION Complaints

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the ABS, traction control module, and steering column control module warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the dealer and diagnosed with steering column control module failure. The dealer reprogrammed the steering column control module; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 114,713.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The contact stated that the vehicle rolled after parking. The gear shifter failed to move. The powertrain malfunction warning light was illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Front brake line failed and lost brakes while pulling in to garage causing petal to go down to floor. Contacted Ford dealer and was told that only 2015 on up were covered by recall. this is a life safety issue that needs to be fixed. I replaced both front brake lines on my own.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while shifting gears, the vehicle failed to shift into the correct gear position.. While the vehicle was parked, the vehicle rolled away. The engine warning light was illuminated. The contact called the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 165,100.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while his wife was driving approximately 35 MPH, the wife heard a crunching noise from the vehicle's front end and then the power steering stopped functioning. The contact stated his wife observed numerous unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact's wife pulled over safely and had the vehicle towed to a dealer. The dealer stated that the vehicle had a power steering failure and determined that the steering rack needed to be replaced and reprogram the vehicle computer. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

The car had been driven about 5 minutes and then there was a complete loss of brakes. Because the vehicle is a PHEV there was regen braking to help slow the vehicle and get it off the road. We towed the vehicle to a Ford dealer where it took 5 weeks for them to determine the problem and fix. The dealer said it required a new wiring harness and charged approx $550. It is very disturbing that a wiring harness failure (electrical) should cause a complete loss of braking control — something that should have mechanical backup safety mechanisms.

The front passenger side brake hose failed without warning. When I stepped on the brake the pedal went down to the floor. The fluid was leaking out, but was able to make it home. I informed the dealer, but they indicated there was no recall in place. I had the hose replaced. About 6 months later the Front Driver side brake hose failed in the same way. Again the brake pedal went down to the floor and was able to make it home. Again looked for any recall notice and found none. I had the hose replaced.

Brake hose ruptured. It was confirmed and already replaced by an independent service center so it is not available for inspection. My safety and others’ safety was put at risk with the inability to stop the vehicle in motion as expected. There were no warning messages/lamps/symptoms prior to failure or after failure.

*Car shifts hard when transitioning into second gear. *The hard shift causes a bit of whip lash *No *No *No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms. This has been ongoing issue for the last year. Other Ford Fusion owners have expressed the same issue with their vehicles. *A transmission flush was done at 140k miles

I was driving down the highway when My car suddenly popped up a “hill start assist not available” “service AdvanceTrac” and “Steering loss stop safely” as my car completely lost all steering while merging almost causing me to wreck.
