2015 FORD FUSION- Chesapeake, VA
Failed Part: Front left brake hose. While starting the car in a parking lot, I pressed the brake pedal down and the brake pedal kept going to the floor. Threre was a severe loss in breaking performance and the brake warning message appeared and the chimed sounded. There was little breaking performance remaining, So I was able to make it across the street to Firestone Complete Auto Care Store #788339 (Phone number 757 312 8357) to have the the car serviced where the front brake hose on the left side was replaced Retail Invoice number #[XXX]. I should have insisted on replacing the other brake hose during the repair but the service advisor argued that it was not necessary. The mileage on the invoice is incorrect. Ford Motor Company has a Customer Satisfaction Program 22N02 for the same issue. When I scheduled an appointment the service advisor told me the other brake hose would only be inspected and replaced only if leaking. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

2015 FORD FUSION- Roscoe, IL
I have lost my brakes twice in the last year. Once on 10/19/21 and once on 09/07/22. The first incident on 10/19/21 I was driving and without warning lost my brakes and fluid was going all over. This was due to a rupture of the front brake flex hose. I live in Roscoe, IL and was visiting my mother in Burlington, WI. Thank goodness, we were driving in her neighborhood when this happened or it could have been devastating. This last incident on 09/07/22 I was pulling out of a parking lot when I noticed that my pedal went all the way to the floor leaving me with no brakes. This incident was the left front brake hose that ruptured. In both of these incidents, my car had to be towed to be repaired. Upon researching these problems, there have been many complaints of both of these same issues for other Ford Fusion owners. Last October after the first incident took place, I notified Ford and asked why some cars were recalled but not mine. All they told me was to save my receipts and maybe I could get reimbursed if my car was ever recalled. My vehicle is serviced per mileage and has never missed an oil change and maintenance check at the Ford dealership. Both of these incidents were not identified as a problem before they had happened and just all of a sudden i was without brakes. I am very thankful that I was not on the interstate or in traffic during either one of these times. Now, I am nervous to even drive my 2015 Ford Titanium and wonder when this will happen again.
