2015 FORD FUSION Complaints

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH and approaching a stop sign, the check engine warning light illuminated and he saw white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact drove to the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the message “Vehicle Overheating" was displayed and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the long block and the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer also informed the contact that it was a known failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

I was driving on the freeway in North Carolina and received a Hill Start Assist not available on my dashboard. This was the first time i ever seen this and keep in mind I am on the freeway driving a little over 70 mph, All of a sudden the car started to tug back & slow down a bit but jerk back up to speed. This went on until i was able to get off the freeway. very scary. when I spoke to a mechanic a brake switch needed to be replaced. Currently pending repairs

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power with the low coolant warning light illuminated. Moments later the “Low Power Mode" message displayed and the vehicle decelerated to approximately 5 MPH. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the engine was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 111,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated after refueling the vehicle, the vehicle hesitated while attempting to start the vehicle. Once the vehicle started and the contact shifted into drive(D), the vehicle inadvertently reversed. The failure reoccurred several times. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V254000 (Power Train). The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

The electric steering motor mounting bolts to the steering rack corroded and snapped off causing the vehicle to loose steering. This is a huge safety concern! If this would happen at freeway speeds it would cause a serious accident or even loss of life. Ford Motor Company had a recall for this concern for the same model year we own but Ford Customer Service told me that by the vin number our Ford Fusion was not included in the recall. What had happened is the exact same concern for the recall. At the present time this vehicle we own can not be driven ! I believe Ford’s recall number is 19S26. There is lots of information on the internet about this concern. I can’t understand why Ford Fusions from 2013 thru 2016 are involved in this recall but not all of them since all the steering racks on the Ford Fusions are of the same design. It’s a very costly repair if the owner can not get assistance from Ford. Please look into this matter. Thank you

The brake lights remain on, car started jerking in traffic, no control of car function other than park and drive. Call around dealerships, they either didn't have the part, reschedule me time after time, then I had to wait. Now car is not working

The block is cracked causing coolant to intrude into it. This intrusion is causing engine to perform poorly and has a hard time getting up to speed which could result in getting rear ended...especially on the interstate. It could also cause engine to overheat leaving us stranded on the side of the road. Ford is aware of this problem and has even redesigned the block but there is no recall for it. I have not drove the car to have it inspected but spoke with a dealership over the phone about what my car was doing and they knew exactly what the issue was. My car started off idling roughly followed by a P0301 (cylinder 1 misfire). This started a few months ago...changed out the spark plug and problem went away for a while but last week we got a message saying engine coolant was overheated. We no longer feel safe driving it anywhere.
