2011 FORD FUSION Complaints

I went to work the day my power steering went out it was driving fine that day I got home and parked in the driveway the next day I get in started up and when I put it reverse to back up I noticed that my power steering was not working I need to know if the recall on the power steering system is still in affect

1. The Power Steering Control Module has failed and it can be available under inspection if needed. 2. Power steering failed when going 60 mph down the highway. 3. Yes, has been confirmed by a dealer to be the issue. 4. Has a other recalls out under 15s18 but the power steering has failed 2 months outside the 10 years 150k miles warranty Ford offered. Vehicles only has 111k miles on it. 5. No warning when it just failed. It turned off Advance Tractions Control on the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the power steering fault message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the power steering control module replaced. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.

On october18,2021 our vehicle lost power steering. We had the vehicle towed to BobSight ford in lee's summit, mo. We heard there had been issues about power steering assist. Looked up recalls on NHTSA WEBSITE and found campaign # 15v340000. We contacted the dealership about the recall but they told us it wasn't a recall situation. We were charged $1845.97 for repairs.The vehicle was ready on October 26,2021. When there is over 393,625 vehicles potentially affected why would this not be an issue that is considered a recall. I feel that I was charged for repairs unjustly and that this dealer was negligent in their actions. Fortunately there was no crashes or injuries with this vehicle. I consider this a very dangerous situation that needs to be addressed and taken care of on all vehicles that this applies to. I feel I should be reimbursed for the charges. Thank you.

I am requesting a recall letter from the manufacturer on those issues my vehicle have! 1- Service power steering Now 2- Service advance trac 3- Steering is hard to steer! RECAL 5 DIGIT NUMBER: 15S18 Many owner with that vehicle have same problem which is why it is unsafe to drive the vehicle! I also request a rental vehicle to commute to work and back until this issue is resolved! safety of myself and other drivers comes first! Thanks

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V158000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact called the local dealer and it was confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts are not available.

Steering rack has almost completely locked up I took my car to dealership and they told me it had been recalled but because my car was over ten years old they informed me they were not responsible to fix it any longer

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at 80 mph, the advance track and "Service power steering soon" warning lights and messages were illuminated. The steering wheel inadvertently jerked out of the contact's hands 5 - 6 times. The contact pulled over and disconnected the fuse from the power steering assist module. The contact was able to drive to his residence without a power steering assist. The contact self-diagnosed the vehicle with a code reader that there was no communication to the power steering assist, and that the StabiliTrak wheel speed sensor on the front passenger’s side was faulty. The contact replaced the front passenger’s side wheel speed sensor. However, after the replacement, all the wheel speed sensors appeared faulty on the code reader. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer for the repair but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 103,945.

POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE. When this appears the car is very difficult to drive. My safety and the safety of others is at risk when this happens. Thank Goodness I was not going when this occurred otherwise I could have hit someone. The problem has not been inspected by the manufacturer as they can't even fix my air bag recall, No other warnings. this has occurred now about 4 times. shutting the car off and restarting it seems to reset the issue.
