2022 FORD MAVERICK HYBRID Complaints

Received notification vehicle is in deep sleep mode though vehicle was driven yesterday.

Problem 1: As a hybrid engine, the engine shudders, shaking the whole vehicle, as i am travelling in a low speed, around 5 mph. I believe this is the cause of engine rpm switching to electric motors. This had occurred multiple times in 3 months of owning the vehicld. Problem 2: brake grab. There has been multiple instances that the brake engages in low speed. This happens when i am not stepping on a gas pedal, like about to park. The brake grab puts the vehicle in a jerk stop. This occurred multiple times in 3 months of owning the vehicle

On several occasions, most recently on February 13, 2023, my vehicle encountered a stop safely warning light and all power was lost. I could no longer accelerate and was forced to pull over onto the side of the highway. This has happened on four occasions when I was attempting to pass another vehicle. The most recent occurrence happened while passing an eighteen wheel truck on a two lane highway. The truck had to brake heavily behind me because I did not have any power to maintain speed as I moved in front of him. Once stopped, I have been able to shut off the key and the system resets and I am able to resume driving. A check engine light will come on but will disappear in 24 to 48 hours.

At low speeds <5 mph the brakes will lock/bite and other times they will perform normally. Pedal response is basically unpredictable which could cause an accident.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The contact stated that he was informed by the dealer the air bags could not be replaced until after the air bags had been deployed. The contact was then informed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. For now nothing happens but im frustrating about recalls and my dealership is finding the ?braking?? problems, the maker me unsafe also by 02/06/23 check ?ENGINE LIGHT??comes on. And they gave me appointment in 42 hours. And also my maverick has a lot oil comes out front oil filter, that's my dealer unprofessional services.

Brakes at low speed are malfunctioning and grabbing late with loud thumping noise. Problem has been happening since I took possession of vehicle

At low speeds, the brakes are unpredictable. Sometimes they grab hard, other times not. Sometimes there is a loud clunk associated with this low speed braking. I don’t know the cause, but it leaves the driver uncertain how much pressure to apply in braking situations. Snowy conditions are especially hard to navigate. Ford has issued a TSB for the problem which I am in line to have completed. But early feedback indicates that the offered fix only partially resolves the problem.

Twice, within a one week period, my hybrid vehicle failed to start. In fact, the key fob failed to unlock vehicle. I changed the battery in one key fob and still wouldn't unlock the vehicle. I had to unlock vehicle manually with the key and vehicle still wouldn't start. Vehicle dash board and all interior lights not working. Both times service was called and vehicle started right up with a jump from a battery pack. No check engine light was displayed either time. I have checked the Ford Maverick owners website and a bad wiring harness appears to be a problem that many hybrid owners have reported that Ford replaced to resolve this problem. I am concerned that this defective wiring harness could be a fire hazard. Also now the vehicle is unreliable and could leave me stranded on the highway or die in heavy traffic or when trying to merge or exit the interstate near my home.
