2015 GMC ACADIA- Zanesville, OH
My vehicle has a severe launch shudder in 1st gear from a stop, and while driving along when I’m in 4th gear, or during the 2-3 upshift or 3-2 downshift. It shakes the entire suv so bad I have to stop accelerating. The vehicle becomes uncontrollable which is a major safety risk.

My vehicle is involved in GM safety recall N232404980. I received a letter dated June 2023 from GMC informing me of the recall. On 3/6/24, I contacted GMC to inquire when I could expect to have my vehicle repaired. No timeline could be provided. I sent and email to NHTSA with my concern over the time lapse in the vehicle repair. In an email from NHTSA, I was given a GMC phone number to call to get a timeline for the repair. GMC is unable to provide me with a timeline. I think I have waited long enough and have driven a dangerous vehicle too long. Why can I not at least get some idea of how much longer I will have to wait. I understand that I can receive serious injury or even die from this problem. I would like my vehicle repaired soon.

The airbag warning light came on, and the console message "SERVICE AIRBAG SOON" was displayed. The drivers seat side airbag was disabled. The vehicle is a 2015 GMC Acadia with 66,590 miles when this happened. A TSB for this exact issue was The charge for the repair is dated 04/07/2015, but I was never notified about an existing issue that could disable an airbag. I was charge $632.82 for a labor-only repair (no parts are necessary) to resolder the wires in a connector. This should have been inspected/repaired years ago under warranty, after GM knew this condition could eventually disable an airbag.

I am writing a complaint in reference to the already issued recall number 23v334, for the acadia's and their airbags. It states that if the remedy is not taken care of or whatever the wording about a timely manner, to reach out and this recall was issued in May after already being aware for some time, and now we are approaching the one-year Mark and they still have absolutely no remedy available for the Acadia and they are Slow Rolling each model out to save money. I am literally driving around with a ticking time bomb in front of my face with the potential to kill me according to its own wording and according to the own manufacturer reading back the identical wording while they're telling you that they have no option available there is no new airbag that they have worked on in the 8 plus months since recall, and there's literally nothing I can do to ensure my safety so I am officially lodging another complaint for the safety of this already known issue that is not been remedy and whereas there appears to be no active and serious engagement and producing something. This is completely unacceptable and something needs to be done about it as there are plenty of people out here with the same potential Hazard right in front of them each and every day they're entering this vehicle.

It was shuddering while accelerating- 30-40 mph. I took it to a local shop. They diagnosed the transmission is failing. The cost to replace it would be $8,500-9,500, more than the car is worth. Also other repairs were needed, not related to the transmission, yet pushed the total repair to over $10,000.
