2024 GMC SIERRA 1500 Complaints

Gridlines on the backup camera work intermittently when backing. The issue has been occurring since taking delivery. 20 June 2024. The dealer has made (3) attempts at repairing and has not resolved the issue. A Buy Back request was submitted 9/2025 and denied. GM advised it is a known problem they are working on. Back up cameras with gridlines became a mandatory safety feature in 2018.

MY BACK WINDOW HAS HAD A LEAK IN IT FOR SOMETIME NOW. I TAKEN IT TO A DEALER THEY SAID THEY HAVE HAD OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. BUT THE WARRENTY WON'T COVER IT .I ALWAYS BUY BUMPTER TO BUMPTER SO I DON'THAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THINGS LIKE THIS.IT IS RUINING MY INTERIOR.CAN WE PLEASE GET SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the windshield washer fluid activated unintendedly and sprayed over the front windshield, causing a visibility hazard for the driver. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who repaired a loosened electrical wire, and the vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the radio cluster unintendedly deactivated, and the OnStar Service became unavailable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the radio cluster, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not yet contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 3,000.

GM has identified my vehicle as having a problem "If the engine fails during vehicle operation, the vehicle will lose propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash.". It has been almost 6 months since this issue was identified and yet GM has failed to address the issue in my vehicle. I believe this problem should be immediately corrected and if it results in my or my families injory GMC should be considered grossly negligent for their failure to promptly correct the issue.

The contact heard an abnormal metal-on-metal sound coming from the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the supports for the differential and the rear axles had been improperly attached and had become loose. The contact had asked the dealer if the repair could be covered under warranty, and was advised that the repairs were not covered. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while reversing, the rear-view camera displayed a dimmed image, and the contact was unable to clearly see behind the vehicle while reversing. The dealer was contacted. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was notified of the failure and informed the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 14,800.

My car is having the same issue as many other 2024 GMC Sierra owners. Reverse gear is not working. It is due to the transmission valve body being faulty. Why GMC has not send a recall notice yet. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH, he depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle accelerated independently. The contact stated he drove across four lanes of traffic and regained control of the vehicle. The contact stated that as he was slowing for a traffic signal, he again depressed the brake pedal. The contact stated that the pedal went to the floorboard, and the vehicle would not stop. The contact stated no warnings illuminated. The contact stated that his vehicle crashed into the rear end of the vehicle in front of him. The contact stated that there were scratches on his front bumper and no damage to the other vehicle. There were no injuries, and the police were not called. The contact stated that both vehicles were able to drive away. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the master brake cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while coasting at speeds of approximately 1- 3 MPH, and gently pressing the accelerator, the vehicle suddenly surged forward and accelerated quickly. The accelerator pedal was released, and the brake pedal was depressed, allowing the vehicle to come to a stop. The failure had occurred approximately 5 times within a year and a half. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
