2024 GMC SIERRA 1500 Complaints

My 2024 GMC Sierra 1500's engine has gone bad, and needs to be replace after only 71,000 miles, and this is only 90 day after already replacing the transmission

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the fuel level indicator on the instrument panel became inoperable and provided incorrect information. The contact stated that due to the inaccurate fuel level, the vehicle almost went into LIMP Mode with the message “Refuel - EMPTY Now” displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the DEF tank had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed by the dealer that parts to repair the vehicle were on backorder. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,895.

Engine failure on March 8, 2026. 2024 Sierra Denali 1500 VIN [XXX] Prior to this incident, the vehicle was taken to the same dealer due to the safety recall. The engine was inspected on November 12, 2025, and I was told that it "passed," with the remedy being a change in oil viscosity. I was driving on March 8, 2026, when I heard some odd noises (clanking and knocking). Shortly thereafter, the engine just stopped in the middle of the road. It would not restart, and as a result, I couldn't put it in neutral to roll it out of the roadway. It remained stuck in park. I was stuck for 2+ hours in the rain, waiting for a flatbed wrecker. Cars were unable to pass in either direction. When the tow truck arrived, I was told it had to be dragged on to the flatbed with sleds due to the transmission being stuck in park. The truck was taken to Carl Black GMC in Roswell, GA. On Monday they confirmed that the engine had seized and needed to be replaced. The gauge cluster quit working, I have no way of knowing my speed or how much fuel is in the vehicle. Feel like this is a safety issue with not being able to see the speedometer.

The engine locked up 2 months after recall inspection. There was no lights or warnings. Towed into dealer, they inspected it and said lower end failed. Dealer replaced engine.

My engine makes a rattling noise intermittently, misses, and surges. The transmission has shuddered and shifts hard randomly. The transmission has stayed at 2-plus rpm for well over two minutes. All this happens at random times. I have shown videos to my dealership, which did no good because they couldn't replicate it. I have had GM's so-called fix with changing the oil and software updates, which still haven't fixed any of my issues. I've been in contact with the main GM over these issues, and no one has seemed to care. They did scan the vehicle, and the only code it showed was a loss of signal to the transmission control module, which I assume fixed itself, because they did nothing further.

[XXX] and [XXX] of 2025 the 6.2 V8 engine died while driving down the highway in Houston. The truck was bought brand new in January of 2025 with 100 miles on the odometer. The first engine failure happened [XXX] with 10,350 miles. Replaced, the second failure happened [XXX] with just under 25,278k miles. Once again the engine was replaced and took almost 6 weeks. The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while stationary or while driving, the vehicle unexpectedly shut off. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle stalled and lost electrical power. The battery was replaced five times and the BCM four times; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that after opening the door causes an immediate parasitic drain on the battery, resulting in a total loss of electrical power. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,000.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shuddered and hesitated, and the transmission was slipping. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and DTC: P2818 “Pressure Control Solenoid H was stuck and the Transmission Control Module (TCM) valve body”. The contact was informed that the part needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact to stop driving the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that months later, the failure reoccurred while driving at an undisclosed speed, and the vehicle shuddered and hesitated, and the transmission started slipping. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but three months later, the failure reoccurred, and the RPM started fluctuating. The contact called the dealer; however, the vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

2024 1500 Denali 3.0 Duramax Diesel engine failed at 57,000 miles. Engine is out of spec per dealer inspection, has an audible ticking noise, an additional audible metal on metal noise, and loss of power. New 3.0 engine is on back order due to a large volume of engine failures and has no ETA on when it will arrive.
