the coolant control valve failed, and now its been in the dealership for over a month. I have been reading online that this is not an isolated issue, and many people experience months of wait time getting the part because its apparently nationally backordered because of this problem.

All of a sudden while driving on [XXX] in PA, the vehicle made a loud click noise, started squealing and randomly slowing down as if we were slamming on the brakes, but it was all engine related. Then it was shaking vigorously while we were parked. We got towed to a local shop in the middle of nowhere, and they just called stating it could be a valve spring that broke and they’d have to take the valve cover off to determine it. I am writing to formally express my concern and frustration regarding the prolonged delay in implementing a remedy for General Motors Safety Recall N252494000, which affects vehicles equipped with the L87 6.2-liter VB engine. This recall, issued in April 2025, was prompted by serious safety concerns involving sudden engine failure and loss of propulsion-conditions that significantly increase the risk of a crash. Despite the recall being acknowledged and a Special Coverage Bulletin (N252494003) issued in May 2025, there has been no clear timeline or actionable fix provided to affected vehicle owners like myself. The root causes, as identified by GM, include rod-bearing damage due to sediment and out-of-spec crankshaft dimensions-both stemming from supplier manufacturing defects. Given the severity of the issue and the number of vehicles involved (nearly 600,000), the lack of timely resolution is unacceptable. I urge the NHTSA to take further action to ensure that GM expedites the development and deployment of a permanent fix. Vehicle owners deserve transparency, accountability, and above all, safety.

Multiple times the windshield wipers have randomly stopped working. Other times were on short drives from home and we were able to get home safely but had issues with visibility. Eventually they would come back on and start working again. Yesterday this occurred while we were out of town and driving home on the interstate in traffic and very heavy rain. It was almost impossible to see the road and due to multiple lanes of traffic it was a very dangerous situation. This is an huge safety issue and has now put my families safety in jeopardy on multiple occasions. Other drivers have also reported this issue.

Speed control became stuck and I had to hit my breaks to stop acceleration. Vehicle stopped shifting while driving down the road periodically. Warning collision lights and traction control lights randomly come on with nothing in front of vehicle. Yesterday vehicle would not start or even unlock. When I did get the vehicle to start by manually unlocking it and trying over and over it would not go forward or backward although the engine did rev up. All warning lights were on including traction control and check engine. It did randomly start moving but the “service steering column” light and check engine light are still on . The car periodically revs up while going down a hill when it needs to downshift instead. It has completely shut off driving down the road through town and stopped. I had to hurry and turn it back on as there were cars behind me. It’s a 2023 and I don’t feel safe driving it with my kids.

I was at a stop on my street needing to cross a busy one. I stepped on gas to quickly move forward and it stalled. Almost causing a wreck. I have taken it in to gm it had a recall and they said it was fixed and now there is another recall and it has been at least three months now that our dealer can not resolve this issue because they do not have parts to fix the issue. The vehicle seems to struggle moving forward and when its switching gears. It is still running but I feel like something is off. I have two small children with me and we are in this car all the time. I do not feel safe driving it anymore. What can I do about this?
