I have had front flex on my grand design repaired twice already and it’s still has issues. They didn’t weld any of the aluminum back together they would only do the frame, my bedroom walls and cabinets wouldnt get fixed either because that’s cosmetic.

We are experiencing frame damage on our Fifth wheel portion of the RV! The welds are cracking, and causing the front of the RV to shift and sag when hitched to the truck! We reached out to the manufacturer for help and they confirmed that we do have what they call "Frame Flex" They consider this a warranty item and we are out of warranty so we are on the hook for a $16000 plus repair bill! We have been in contact with 100's of others who have had this issue, sometimes the frame is repaired by the manufacture under warranty, and other times they get the insurance to pay for the repair! We have been contacted by several individuals who want to pursue a class action lawsuit over this matter! We feel that you should step in and determine if they are selling the correct frame that is fit for the RV they are building and allowing us to drive on the roads in the USA. Since this is not an isolated event there are so many of these RV's on the road with frames that are not built to properly hold the GVWR of the RV! These RV's are currently being towed down the highways and if a complete failure happens while towing the RV could buckle and fall apart on the road! We fell you should investigate and determine if the Manufacturer is in fact using a DOT approved frame for the RV's they are selling! If they are not a recall should be issues and all of the owners should have their units fixed to make the safe for use on the highway!

The pin box is flexing to the point that its damaging the inside of the RV. I made various videos and provided them to the manufacturer. Based on the movement and damage the unit should not be moved until it has a professional inspection. Its possible that I have frame flex due to broken welds. The Manufacturer has asked it to be towed to a dealer for further inspection. I do not feel safe to do so in fear if it fails completely and causes damage or injury to others. Local dealer does not perform any repairs or inspection of structural damage.

The contact owns a 2023 Grand Design Reflection RV. The contact stated that the RV was designed with an electric leveling system. The contact stated the two rear levelers failed to elevate beyond 4.5 inches from the ground. The contact stated that the levelers would strike the ground while driving over a speed bump or on a bumpy road surface. The contact stated that the issue was a safety concern because it could cause damage to the RV while driving. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but declined to provide shorter levelers. The failure mileage was approximately 200.

While towing on I-75 at 65 MPH, the driver's side front storage doors came open. These doors had been shut, locked, and checked before departing. They were secured again and remained closed at a lower speed. Examination revealed two design flaws. First, they are side-opening overlapping doors. With an overlapping (rearward) door facing forward, this allows the slipstream to enter the gap putting strain on the two retaining locks. The second is on the two cabinet cam locks for the forward door. The throws for both are short with the upper barely making contact with the frame of the opening. vibration causes this one to come loose opening the gap for even more slipstream penetration. Solution reorient doors so overlapping is facing rearward, and put longer throws on cam latches. I replaced the short one with a longer one that had to be molded to fit, the forward door is much more secure now. This problem has been reported by other owners of this model 390RK on Facebook.

The contact owns a 2023 Grand Design Reflection RV. The contact stated that the rear jack support was low to the ground and the contact became aware the jack support was bent. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.

This trailer has frame flex in the gooseneck area to the point it is damaging the cabinetry in the front of the trailer. I have been in multiple momentum trailers with this problem and the dealership just wants me to trade it in or charge an astronomical amount of money to try and fix. It’s a known problem that everyone needs to be aware of.

In April 2023 during an inspection to correct a misalignment of my 2019 5th wheel trailer's dual axles, it was discovered by the servicing shop (Straight Line Suspension, Mesa AZ) that the left rear spring hanger had failed causing one of the axles to become misaligned. Straight Line informed me that this was a very unusual situation but we assumed it was a one off situation which was then corrected by Straight Line. On September 24, 2023 while traveling on Interstate 40 in western Arizona several vehicles blew their horns at me and indicated that I should pull off to the side of the road. As I slowed down and began to get out of the active lane I heard a tire blowout. After stopping on the side of I-40 I discovered that the blowout was a result of the right rear spring hanger had broken apart and subsequently hitting the inside of my right rear tire and totally destroying it. At this point the rear of the spring and axle was no longer connected to the chassis. I contacted a towing company who had to chain up the floating axle in order to tow me to the nearest exit. After I located a mobil welder to temporarily patch the broken hanger and was able to limp home with my trailer. I contacted Grand Design and they informed me that since it was over 1 year since I bought the new trailer from them it was out of warranty but suggested that I contact Lippert Components who was the OEM of the defective chassis and spring hanger. Since there are a total of 3 hangers on each side I asked that they pay to replace the broken one plus the other 4 that had not yet broken off. They asked that I get an estimate to replace the broken hanger and the other hanger that I already replaced 5 months earlier. They refused my request to replace the total of 5 hangers that were still part of their original build. If additional hangers had broken loose at that time it is likely that 1 or 2 axles could have broken free from the trailer and possibly cause a catastrophic situation.

The contact owns a 2022 Grand Design Imagine. The contact stated that while having the RV serviced, the contact was informed that the wires to the front axle brake on the trailer was never connected. No warning light was illuminated. The RV had been diagnosed. The RV was repaired by an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000. The VIN was not available.

I was informed that I have a broken frame upfront in the Kingpin area. I sent this to Grand Design and they denied any responsibility Grand Design Please find attached the pictures that were taken today (will Attach when sending final) and an email below to Blue Dog RV in Pasco show that I was very concerned about the front cabinets rubbing and asked to have them follow up with you. As you can see that email is dated Sept 7 2022 and is clearly still within the Warranty period for this frame problem. I have tried numerous times calling Blue Dog and left messages but no return calls. I had given them my cell number to call since I was traveling out of state. I did call Grand Design and complained that the Dealer network that they have is terrible and how am I supposed to get things fixed and the nice lady told me to go ahead and find a “local little dealer”. I was able to get it into A’s Parts & Repair that was booked out until June. A's Parts & Repair looked in to it and found the King Pin box has over an 1” of movement and then I was contacted by A's Parts & Repair asking to pull the front lower section by king pin box then to have Micah's custom works to evaluate the damage & then Micah took a look at it said the frame has multiple brakes & not sure how to brace the frame & declined to even attempt it & recommend to return for repair or replacing frame for the toy hauler back to the factory. Manufacturer Broken welds and under reinforced thus causing the cabinet issues. I have included the updated pics of the welds and they feel the whole front cap is moving and their local welding specialist says he cannot fix it due to the extent of the failures. The frame up front in the King Pin area is broken and have broken welds due to flaw in design. I contacted my ins company and Progressive Ins denied claim and states that it is clearly a manufacture design flaw .
