2013 HONDA ACCORD Complaints

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle started sputtering and lost motive power. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over, and there was a delay in restarting the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the failure was due to the fuel pump. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that there was no recall on the VIN. The failure mileage was approximately 153,000.

Code 123_11 for bad ABS module. Lights that turn on within the dashboard are: Front Crash Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), TPMS, Traction Control, and Electronic Power steering. This issue is common within this generation of Accord and Honda needs to issue a recall.

Power steering failed without warning which is extremely dangerous and could possibly cause a fatality.

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front tire and the steering wheel were vibrating abnormally. Additionally, there was a burning odor coming from the front tire. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) module. The contact was informed that the VSA module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the VSA module had failed. The contact was informed that the VSA module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under recall. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 163,993.

Steering wheel will pull left and want to keep going left. Have to really pull steering wheel right to keep car straight. This is a known problem on 2013 Honda accords. This almost caused an accident on the road. I am bringing it to Honda but it's a known problem and should be recalled. I know the 2012 models had the issue and they were recalled.

On [XXX], my CV axle broke. I was stopped at a stoplight and when the light turned green, I stepped on the accelerator, then heard a VERY loud “clunk” and my car didn’t move. I shifted into all of the other gears, but it didn’t move. I shifted it into Park and called AAA. They dispatched a tow truck driver, who arrived about 45 minutes later. He engaged the emergency brake, after checking under the car and informing me that the driver’s side CV axle had broken, which prevents the car from actually being able to shift into Park. He towed the car to an independent mechanic. Both the tow truck driver and the mechanic said it’s quite uncommon for a CV axle to break. I was about 1/2 mile from getting on the freeway and luckily I didn’t make it that far, because it could have been much worse during rush hour traffic. As it was, I was blocking a lane of traffic at the stoplight. I have both pieces of the driver’s side CV axle in my possession. No one other than the tow truck driver and mechanic have inspected it, yet. I had no warning at all that the axle was about to break. While doing some online research to find out the likelihood of the passenger side CV axle breaking, I came across a recall notice for the drive shaft of certain 2013-2015 Accords in salt belt states. My VIN search showed that my car wasn’t part of this recall and a call to a Honda dealer confirmed this. I’m puzzled, since we live in Wisconsin. Might the recall need to be expanded? I was driving into a parking spot and the car started flickering, the screen turned off and the steering locked and would not allow me to move the car at all even though it was in drive.

The car has just over 91,000 miles on it and the push button start is working only intermittently. I know I’m not the only one because the online forums are full of started problems with these. It’s my only car and Honda has known for years it is a problem with these.

All the lights on my dash came on associated with the abs module fail.. it also affected my alternator as i believe the car is working to hard. The barks are weird the car drives sluggish. My lights cone on and off.. when they are off the car drives just fine. Many accords have this issue and no parts can be found. Something is not right
