2013 HONDA ACCORD Complaints

Steering gets very stiff sometimes and you have to yank it to control the vehicle's direction. This has been happening over the past year and is now happening more frequently. The warning light comes on sometimes. The problem has not yet been reported to the dealer but from reports on the web this seems to be a common problem in 2013 and 2014 models.

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the driver's side curtain air bags and the front driver's seat air bags deployed without impact. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened; however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

Re: complaint #11590390, after loosing my steering I had to take my car to the dealer I found no recalls on this website but much to my surprise there is. Honda replaced the steering gearbox. Total parts and labor came to $3056.69. The recall campaign number for the ESP gearbox replacement is 15-056-5Z200, good info for the future for you and anyone else having this issue. Not bad for a eleven year old car, not to mention how happy I was not having to pay for the repair. Thank you Honda.

The ABS on the honda accords from 2013-2017 all have failures right now. My car and my friends car has the same issue. Took it to the dealership and the guy working there even said this should be a recall. Alot of the honda accords have been having this same issue. All the warning lights on the dash light up and its because of the bad ABS module going bad. I realy think honda should take responsibility on this. It is costing me $3,318 to fix it.

The ABS module on these accords go bad prematurely, causing many lights on the dash board to come on. It happened to my step father in his 2014 accord unfortunately causing him to total his car due to the breaks locking up in the rain and now my car has the same problem. There are even forums about this issue and Honda definitely needs to issue a recall and fix this issue

This morning I started my car and everything was normal. I started backing out of my driveway and my steering wheel would not turn in any direction. The steering light is on in the dashboard and the steering wheel is locked. I went back into my driveway to turn the vehicle off and back on, but nothing changed. I’m lucky this didn’t happen while driving on the road.

driving home from manhattan i hit bump and the steering light came on and i could not steer my car. Realizing what happened (i first thought the car stalled) i was able to put the car in neutral , shut it off, and restart it hoping the problem would go away which thankfully it did. Needless to say i was very lucky not to be hit by another car as this was a very dangerous situation. I have read about others having this problem and wonder why Honda has not addressed this very dangerous problem YET. i am afraid to drive my car in fear of this happening again and maybe not being so lucky next time.

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated that after taking the vehicle for regular maintenance, the dealer stated that during the tire alignment, the steering indicator light illuminated. The dealer diagnosed that the steering gear box failed due to the torque sensors needing to be replaced. The contact had the vehicle towed to another dealer who confirmed the diagnosis and referenced TSB: 15-056. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.

2013 Honda Accord accelerated to a very high speed when driving from the church parking lot, braking did not stop it. barely avoided hitting a car. On Sunday [XXX] at around 13:45pm, as I was leaving the church parking lot, driving at around 5 miles an hour, the car suddenly accelerated to a very high speed, I tried braking but that did not stop it. The car entered and crossed the street, barely missed hitting a car, then entered the parking lot of a dollar store, finally stopping on the far side of the parking lot. No one was injured and no damage occurred. Triple A was called immediately. had car towed to dealership (Neil Huffman Honda, 1607 Greentree Boulevard, Clarksville, Indiana 47129. Car was at the dealership for two days, the car was driven, and an extensive examination was done, but they could not duplicate the concern and did not find any problems with the vehicle. When this episode occurred, there was no prior warning and the action of the vehicle was extremely fast. This was absolutely scary. Please let it be known to the Honda Manufacturer that the car is defective, this defect needs to be fixed as soon as possible, before someone or multiple people are seriously injured or killed, or extensive property damage is done. When driving, the steering wheel wants to turn to the left on its own and is hard to turn to the right. The car will literately make a u-turn if you your hands off the wheel at slow speeds.
