2013 HONDA ACCORD Complaints

When pulling into my driveway, the dash lights suddenly all turned on, and the engine started racing causing the car to crash into my house.

Got in the car to run an errand, started backing out of the driveway and when I went to turn the wheel it locked up and the power steering light came on, lost all power steering. Had it towed to a shop and they said they can’t find anything wrong and I would have to take it to a Honda dealer.

Car has intermittent problem starting the engine, will not start. The starter, battery, key fob battery have been replaced.

Accord does not start frequently. Lights and electrical turn on, but does not turn on. Battery, alternator, key battery and starter were replaced with the same problem. After about 10 minutes or so after trying the vehicle will start. It has left me stranded many times. Honda will not assume responsibility. After reading blogs many owners with 2013 and 2014 Accords experience same problem with no known fixes.

This is an issue of the car regularly pulling hard to the left without warning. My mechanic stated Honda ran out of a regular front-end part and began using an inferior part on some models over several model years. He also stated that neither attempted alignment or repairs other than a suitable replacement for the affected part(s) (currently does not exist) will remedy the issue. I now have a shoulder problem requiring surgery from almost constantly fighting to keep my car in the lane for so long now. The issue has been prevalent since approximately the date and mileage given in "Additional Details" below after becoming vehicle owner and remains ongoing.

It happens at least twice a year for the past 8 years I’ve owned the car , the eps light comes on and it’s hard to steer my car, ive almost been in accidents every time this happens , there should be a recall on This issue and so thing should be done before someone or myself gets hurt

When driving down an even and flat road, the steering wheel will rotate very fast to the right and if I did not have my hands on the steering wheel it would of taken me right off the road. I stopped the car and centered the steering wheel and then let it go and it rotated at least 1 full turn to the right. I centered the wheel again and turned it hard to the left. After that the wheel stayed centered. But, once I started driving again, the wheel pulled hard to the right and I had to repeat the process to get the wheel to center. This most certainly is a steering issue.

VSA, brake, ABS, EPS, tire pressure light always on and won’t go away! I thought there would be enough information about this in the web. There is but, not actual solution. You would have to change out so much and still the lights would come back. Recently, my VSA light coming on and off have made my brakes and something else grind whenever i press on the brakes. To a point where I would need to pull over and hold vSA off button to not have brake grind when pressing on them. There should be enough content to be able to realized that this is a cause and concern for Honda vehicles.

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the steering wheel inadvertently lost power steering functionality. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle by forcefully maneuvering the steering wheel. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the power steering gear box needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. Updated on 3/6/22: I (contact) own a 2013 Honda Accord. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the power steering gear box needed to be replaced. Honda Dartmouth in Massachusetts let the contact know that the car would fall under Service Bulletin 15-056 Warranty Extension: EPS Torque Sensor (DTC 53-01 or DTC 53-02) as the power steering gear box assembly needed to be replaced but, the car did not pull the code when plugged in. The car VIN number did pull as eligible under this warranty. Contact called Honda manufacturing and they stated they would not do anything for the contact as the car did not pull the code DTC53-01 or DTC 53-02 and that the cost of repair would be at the contacts expense.
