Steering wheel jerk/sticking problem after driving 25-30 miles. A lot of tension/force needed to correct steering direction leading to over correcting.

I have the already mention over internet forums as a STICKY WHEEL STEERING After half an hour more or less the steering wheel becomes resistant to move to do little adjustments and keep my driving strait, driving slow or at speed, does it. Is safety hazard because is like a stuck steering always taking the car out of the lines and you have to apply more force than normal to correct, when you unstuck it you already have to correct again because was overcorrected and have to unstuck it again and happen all the time once the car has been driven for a while.

I am having a problem with my 2017 Honda civic SI, it has been to a Honda service center twice now and continues to have the same problem after having the transmission speed sensor replaced twice now, there was a recall that did not affect my specific VIN but I am having the same problems listed in the recall, the service bulletin number is 18-102, I also have videos showing how the EPS (Electronic Power Steering) light appears on the cluster along with the speed displaying as 0 even though the vehicle is in motion. When the problem occurs initially the steering goes “limp” and is extremely easy to turn as if the steering assist is working too hard then after a few seconds the vehicle proceeds to jerk extremely hard to the left followed up by the speedometer displaying 0 mph, this is extremely frustrating as the car only has around 84k miles and I have only been in ownership of the vehicle for 3-4 weeks as of now (almost 3,000 miles have been put on the car.

Steering wheel sticks when driving, especially when turning left. This issue has been ongoing for years. I've brought it to the dealer but we couldn't replicate the issue at the dealership. It doesn't feel safe when driving and seems to happen when the outside temperature is high. I believe it's either the anti lock system or the steering rack needs to be replaced. No warning lights come on. The dealer said there is a pending review for recall for this issue.

AC component: Condenser and Evaporator (issue is systematic as it's creating issues to Freon) Current RECALL is only for Condenser but it's systematic to Evaporator (faulty part that has failed); I believe Honda is circumventing the cost to repair and is revealing only condenser part failure vs taking ownership on full AC component (if one fail the other will too). Reading blog, reddit, and many other complaints, outside repair shop says finding will still cost consumers $2,000 to fix evaporator caused by part failure. Issues still exist in honda model 2016-2019 and alarming rate of consumers venting the poor quality of the AC component. Honda quality control has not rendored and technician is having consumer fix parts that is near the area (systemic) to known faulty part. The fuel injectors failed at 73,000miles. It can be inspected at a Honda dealership for their hourly labor rate. The car starts to display the following warning messages and lights; Emission system problem, Brake system problem, Brake hold system problem, Power steering system (EPS) problem, vehicle stability assist (VSA) problem, Hill start assist problem and then it goes into limp mode. I couldn’t safely drive on the interstate highway I drive everyday to and from work. It is dangerous to be driving 70+mph and suddenly not be able to drive even 15mph. I have to merge through 4 lanes of traffic and I’m losing speed and power. I have to put my hazard lights on and other drivers are swerving around me and beeping their horns (and worse) at me. I bought a second set of injectors from a Honda dealership and they confirmed that they knew there are issues. This set lasted just over 18months (about 55,000miles). At that point the following warning messages and lights started coming on; Emission system problem, Brake system problem, Brake hold system problem, Power steering system (EPS) problem, vehicle stability assist (VSA) problem, Hill start assist problem and then it would begin going into limp mode again. I went back to the same Honda dealership to talk to them about this issue and they said Honda has a new part number and they cannot order the same injectors I currently have (my second set) and they couldn’t explain the difference between the “old part #” injectors and the “new part #” injectors. So they ordered me a new set and warned me that they are on back order and there is a list of people who have also ordered. I have been waiting for almost 2 months now and frequently call to inquire on the status of my order and they say they cannot tell me anything because they have not heard from Honda and have no information about the status of any of the orders.

My 2017 Honda civic has been having steering issues for a while. It’s very hard to keep straight on a highway and it feels like my steering is sticking when trying to correct myself in a lane on highway. No warning lights on the dash or anything like that.The problem started off minor and not noticeable but now it’s really bad to where I’m swerving left and right on the highway trying to keep straight but it’s almost impossible. It makes me feel unsafe and uncomfortable when driving. It almost feels like I’m going to get pulled over for looking like a drunk driver. I took the car to my local car Honda dealership and explained my problem to them and also told them my opinion saying it might be a steering rack issue since I see multiple problems that people post online with the same generation Civic. So they take my car in and run some test and say my car is all good and that they couldn’t replicate the problem. I think the most they did was align my car again which wasn’t really off. I take my car back and started driving for another week until I took the car back to Honda to see if they could take a look again because it just didn’t feel right. The second time I took it, same thing. Told me they couldn’t recreate the problem. I’m not sure if they checked the steering rack or not because I wasn’t told that they did and I’m assuming they didn’t because they would have to drop the whole front subframe. At that point I honestly didn’t know what to do. I tried taking it to a different shop (pep boys) to see if they could find anything and they couldn’t.

This car has 56,817 miles and in just the last 500 miles or so, we have noticed that the steering wheel seems to get “sticky” or “notchy” after driving for longer drives—maybe over 20-30 minutes. I don’t notice it on my short 10 minute drive to work. It seems to happen while driving straight. The steering wheel seems to get stuck making little steering adjustments jerky and causing frequent overcorrections instead of smooth steering. It’s annoying to a little unsettling, especially at higher speeds. I haven’t had it checked at the dealer but am an import auto mechanic of over 25 years.

2017 Honda Civic experiences random reduced steering maneuverability while driving. Steering wheel becomes briefly stuck in one direction while turning, usually requiring over-steering to correct the issue. Steering wheel becomes less responsive and difficult to turn. Vehicle is available for inspection. Problem has not been confirmed by dealership. No lights or messages displayed on dash or digital console.

Fuel pump failed at 87463 miles Making a grinding noise and had to recede the speed from 50 mph to 25 mph to get to my destination. The engine sounded like it was misfiring and engine lines along with errors showed up in the dashboard.
