2018 HONDA CR-V Complaints

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle several unknown warning lights would remain illuminated, including the check engine warning light. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the fuel injectors were faulty and needed to be replaced. The contact also indicated that fuel had mixed into the engine oil causing a heavy fuel odor to be present inside the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who performed a computer re-flash. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.

My son and I entered my car that was parked in my driveway. We heard a noise. Upon getting out of my car and checking to see what happened, my sunroof had shattered. I immediately called the police because I thought maybe it was a stray bullet. The police did not see a bullet. My sunroof shattered for no reason. Had I been driving and the panel had not been closed, glass would have gone everywhere and my son and I could have been injured

The vehicle has a "feature" which rolls down the windows automatically upon pressing the unlock button on the keyfob twice and then holding the button. On multiple occasions the windows have rolled down without the owner's knowledge when keys are carried in pockets, purses, etc. This is considered a safety issue due to risk of windows unrolling in inclement weather and damaging the interior, or due to risk of an unauthorized person obtaining access to the car by reaching through the now opened window and simply depressing the interior unlock button. There is no way to disable this capability.

While driving on a busy interstate in the rain my car completely lost power and started sputtering. It felt like it was out of gas, however, the gas light was not on and I had about 1/4 tank of gas. I was only able to make it to the on ramp and not completely off of the interstate. Once the car was shut off it would not restart. We had it towed to the dealership where we still have an extended performance warranty. It was a Saturday night so I did not hear from the until Monday morning. The service tech said they believed it was out of gas but I explained there was no warning and shouldnt have been out of gas. When the tech called back he again said it was out of gas and that was it so I pushed to do more. The manager called back the next day and stated since i have an extended warranty they will run diagnostics. That came back it was the fuel pump module. This has been recalled on other 2018 Honda CRV's but my VIN was not included. The tech acted like he was not even aware there had been a recall.

At times when I press down on the accelerator, the car tries to cut off! I have had times where I have come close to getting hit by another car. Don’t know if anyone else is having this problem but I really like my car. I am scared that I am going to get hit when the car tries to stall when I push down on gas pedal. I have had my car immediately stop with a hard brake when there isn’t a car in front of me. It has happened four times in the past quarter. The last time was this past week when my car braked suddenly gong 40 miles per hour on a busy street. Luckily there wasn’t a car in front of me or to the back of me. It would have resulted in an accident. The car also did the same thing on I-15 Highway a month ago when my husband was driving. It stopped suddenly with no obstruction or car ahead of him. It was frightening. Luckily there was not car to the back of him or there would have been an accident. I called the dealership and talked to my service advisor. He said there’s nothing they can do unless they can get the problem to replicate. It will be difficult to replicate the issue in a 10-minute look of the car when it happens so intermittently. I am pleading with Honda to take this seriously. There WILL be an accident, death or injury.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the automatic braking system activated randomly which caused the vehicle to brake suddenly. The contact stated that the brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer to be inspected. The manufacturer was informed of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 44,661.

All the alerts are going off on the car. Brakes, safety, transmission you name it.

My car dashboard went crazy, all lights lit up and various problems flashing. Took my car in and today they are telling me a fuel injector problem will cost $2,500 to repair. That they have never seen this. However, when doing research the 2017-2018 Honda CRVs are having issues with this and yet a safety recall hasn't been issued.? This is my 3rd Honda and will probably be my last. Very disappointed in this one. Nothing but issues. Tire pressure monitor system is screwed up as well that started after it was a week old. If a vehicle is having issues, why isn't a recall been made?
