2019 HONDA CR-V Complaints

The contact's father owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that after his father struck a deer, the check engine warning light and several other warning lights became illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for service. The contact stated that after several repairs were made to the vehicle, the check engine warning light returned soon after the repair. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where a diagnostic test was performed which showed a fault with the fuel injectors. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

The steering in my 2019 Honda CRV started sticking when turning, almost like it was clicking into notches. There were no warning messages that anything was wrong. Brought the car to the dealer who determined the power steering rack needed to be replaced at the cost of $4579. Not doing so was a safety issue as the steering could lock up. I'm the original owner of the vehicle which has less than 30,000 miles, lives in a garage, has been well maintained by Honda's service department, and isn't driven in harsh conditions, so was shocked to hear this and questioned a defect in the part. Local dealer contacted Honda Corporate on my behalf and I was offered a 80% discount for the repair out of good will as a longstanding customer. I had the work done to avoid driving an unsafe vehicle. Based on recalls with steering racks in newer models, I am questioning whether the recall should not extend to earlier models. I do not have any of the replaced parts.

The contact stated that eventually the vehicle failed to start and was towed to the local dealer; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The fuel injectors are failing at 55 to 62k miles. The car experiences a loss of steering wheel functioning components related to the driver assist, and multiple warning lights appear on the dash for a period of a few days, then they suddenly disappear. There are slight hesitations in the automobile's acceleration, and this puts my family at risk during operation. The fuel pumps in the 2019 were replaced under recall but they failed to include the fuel rail and injectors and the pump we believe may have more pressure than the rail as and injectors were designed to handle and this shortens the life cycle of the part. The dealership diagnosed this problem and acknowledges that these same components have failed on other models and have settled lawsuits by extending the warranty periods to fix the injectors on certain less popular and lower sales volume models, but did not include the 2019 CRV and we think it is because that is a more popular model that would result in much more outgoing expense. his is putting many families at risk including my [XXX] daughter and her new born son. The dealership sells the injector and fuel rail parts that need to be fixed as a kit now due to previous and existing recalls in other Honda models but Honda consumer affairs has declined any warranty assistance to repair the 2019 CRV. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the contact was informed that the high-pressure fuel pump and an unknown part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to a second dealer, Larry H. Miller Toyota Peoria (8633 W Bell Rd, Peoria, AZ 85382), who determined that only the low-pressure fuel pump required replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 141,000.

Needs Steering Gear Box replaced. Vehicle has 88,800 miles RACK ASSY., POWER STEERING (EPS)(SERVICE) (STEERING GEARBOX) Steering majorly affected. Confirmed by the dealer and currently at a dealer for repair Called Honda Customer service and they suggested that I put in the notice as there is a recall on the same part for CRV's but not my VIN number No warning lamps or messages, steering just became difficult

My Steering has been very sticky on oy 2019 CRV. It makes creaking noises when I even slightly touch the wheel. They told me today I need a new rack and pinion. I only have 76,000 miles on this vehicle. There was a recall early on that had to do with steering and I feel like this is related. They're acting like it's not. I just don't think I should have to spend $5,800 on a car that I should be able to drive a very long time! 76,000 miles is nothing on a honda!

My Honda CRV 2019 has about 70K miles on it. About a month ago, I started noticing the steering wheel becoming sticky. I would start to turn the wheel very slight and nothing would happen. Then it would catch up but i feel I have turned the wheel too much and now have to over-correct for it. This has a become a problem on highway driving as I feel I am all over my lane. I have seen the recalls for similar issues but this model is currently not under recall for this issue.

Vehicle began making noise when driving. Took to Honda and they discovered a bad bearing in the transmission. Car is regularly serviced and at 78K miles. Car needs a new transmission.
