I was driving my 2021Honda CRV EXL Hybrid on the Interstate in the passing lane. I am the original owner and bought it new in 2021. never had any problem with the car up to that day. I was in passing lane accelerating about 60-65 mph as I rounded a slightly hilly curve in the road when suddenly car started to slow down rapidly. I looked at the dash and could see it was decelerating rapidly, going down and down and slower & I had my foot on gas pedal to the floor ,yet the car kept going slower. I put on hazards& managed to get in slower lane, there was considerable traffic volume at the time luckily had room to move in to slower lane and ultimately into emergency shoulder lane, the car was only going about 10 mph even though I still had gas pedal pressed down as far as it would go. Managed to exit the interstate, still it would go about 10mph ,so drove it to a safe commuter lot about 1/2 mile down the road. Noticed then that the engine light was blinking on and off. Called Honda dealer and told them was having car towed to their business. Next day, went to dealer and told service rep the experience , they scanned the system and found these codes stored: P0300-P0302-P0303 MISFIRES. they then cleared codes and test drove and no lights came back on at that time and stated that the technician performed a visual inspection and found no issues at this time and performed A/F ratio function test and all cylinders passed. Service rep recommended to me that they would take car for a longer drive ,they drove it 28 miles & no lights came back on and no codes set, they state it was "all OK at this time & stated INTERMITTANT CONCERN".I took the car back to my home with great concern ,I don't have trust in the car for myself , family or any other people on the road wherever I would go, I want your agency to investigate .As a [XXX] who trusted the brand and invested lot of retirement treasure in this purchase, I request help for a remedy, Honda had no answer & that doesnt cut it INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF I

On at least 5 different instances (possibly one or two more) as I was turning and slowing down either to park in a parking space or else backing slowly out of a parking place, my car seemed to jump (or jolt) and then accelerate out of my control. The brakes did not work. The most recent incident (after a year or so of no problems) was on [XXX] when the car accelerated as I was pulling into a parking space, crashed into a woody bush, and destroyed it and came to a stop—possibly because I got the brakes to work though I was fairly panicked so I don’t remember—so it did not take out the low fence behind it though I may have hit it. I was terrified that I would hit a woman coming out of the bank as I didn’t know how to get the car to stop. She saw what happened and asked if I was okay. I have taken the car to the Honda dealer in Fairfax, Virginia every time this happened in the past but was told either that my foot must have been on the accelerator or else the technician was unable to duplicate the incident and therefore they could do nothing. After the last incident I took the car to Honda of Chantilly, Virginia where a technician has been looking at it since yesterday so it is still there. If they do not find the cause of this random, erratic sudden acceleration I am going to sell the car (probably back to Honda) because I do not believe it is safe to drive. My family and I were driving down the road, in a gentle left hand turn when the emergency braking system suddenly activated, and our best guess is that it was due to a car well off the road in a parking lot at the same point. A tractor trailer, loaded heavily with electrical transformers was just behind us, and if not for the driver of the truck paying attention we might not all be here today. This has happened many times in other situations, sometimes maybe a dip in the road, sometimes and exit ramp will confuse it, and sometimes I couldn't even guess. So far none have been too bad, but this one was too close. I have attempted to talk to the dealership about it, but they aren't calling me back. I've asked for them to disable the system entirely. There were no warning messages aside from the normal BRAKE message it shows when it activates. In the manual for the car they went so far as to list scenarios where the system might malfunction, but the only way to turn it off involves remembering to bold the button every time you start it up, and hope you don't forget. My child was set to take this car when they start driving, but as is I don't want to drive it, let alone anyone else.

On [XXX] at approximately 7am, I was driving eastbound on [XXX] in Missouri, just west of Waynesville, MO. Weather was clear, not a lot of traffic. My sunroof glass exploded. There were no cars around me, I had not seen anything fly out from anywhere and hit the sunroof and I don't recall hitting any type of large bump or pothole prior to the glass shattering. The noise it made was very loud; like an explosion. The sunshade was open at the time and the tempered glass shattered all over the inside of my car. Despite shattered glass everywhere, I was not injured. There were no passengers in the car at the time. Since most of the glass fell inside the cabin, I closed the sunshade so no more would fall on me and pulled over in Waynesville. I was then able to drive on to my destination in Florissant, MO with the sunshade closed. Once there, a mechanic broke out the rest of the glass for me and installed crash wrap until I could get the window fixed. He also vacuumed out as much glass from the cabin as he could. I contacted my insurance company, sent photos and a claim was started. In the end, my insurance company took care of the claim, minus deductible. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the glass exploding. I had also just had a multi point inspection with my tire rotation and oil change just 3 days prior at Pinegar Honda in Springfield, MO and there was no notation that the glass was cracked or otherwise compromised in any way. I don't know if this is a problem occurring with Honda CR V's or if it's just a fluke occurrence with my particular vehicle. The mechanic was unable to determine what caused the glass to shatter. I am reporting this just in case this is happening with other vehicles and the problem is more pervasive. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was driving on a 2 lane road. There were no other vehicles on the road. The word brake flashed on the dashboard and the car suddenly braked hard. Items on my back seat fell to the floor. The car then resumed normal driving. There was no wind or items blowing across the path of the road. This has not happened before. If there had been a car behind me it might have caused an accident. The vehicle has not been inspected by any entity.

When turning the vehicle to the left, the electronic system freezes the steering requiring a substantial "jerk" of the wheel to come out of the turn. Obviously, having to overcorrect the steering has bad potential outcomes. The Honda dealer described it as a failed electronic steering unit. There were no warnings. The vehicle has 50,000 miles. Parts are on back order and we have no idea when it will be repaired. The local Honda dealer that has the car is Fred Anderson Honda, 330 Woodruff Rd, Greenville, SC 29607 864-565-7535

I was notified of the recall in January 2024, have scheduled appointments at Coggin HONDA of Orlando twice brought the vehicle in and after waiting they did not have the part and I was told to come back and or they would call me when the part came in and or save a part for me and contact me to come in, none of that has happened. Coggin HONDA has failed to fix the issue twice but is still sending me texts to bring the vehicle again but there is no promise they will have the part yet again thus wasting my time and not fixing the issue. It is well past the 60-day mark of when I was informed of the recall needed on my vehicle. When I questioned the service associate stating the issue is if I'm in an accident it could cause a car fire, he replied "oh you should be fine, I wouldn't worry about it"...........yet Honda has a recall for this reason. My vehicle has not had the recall done due to their lack of proper service and or competence when a customer makes a scheduled appointment with them now on more than 2 occasions. Will never buy another vehicle from this location again.

Important safety recall unresolved. There are defects to the internal short circuit from environmental humidity. This issue may cause the airbags to deploy and increase the risk of injury. There is a limited supply of parts; according to the recall letter, the dealership confirmed the current status. I called the manufacturer's care program and was told there are no changes in the status of the recall being repaired.
