2022 HONDA CR-V Complaints

I had a medium sized doe run in front of the vehicle while on the highway. I had the adaptive cruise control set to 62 MPH with lane keeping assist and all other safety features enabled. When the deer ran out out in front of the vehicle the emergency breaking did not engage, nor did it flash the warning or make the chime. It caused major damage to the front center and drivers side of the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. However, after the collision, the airbag light on the dash illuminated and stayed on. The airbag light has never came on before other than the illumination test when first starting the car. Also, the Hazzard lights did not com on automatically. The collision had enough impact to send the several hundred pound deer over 100' down the road. The only safety feature that partly worked was the retracting seat belts. I say partly worked because only the lap portion tightened. There was no tightening of the shoulder portion, which is now locked in place.

The rear windshield in my 2022 CR-V EX randomly shattered when we opened the driver's side door. There was no impact from any objects as the vehicle was stationary all night. We believe it may be related to others' issues with HR-V's as well with the rear windshield randomly shattering.

I was driving my 2021 Honda CR-V vehicle at residential speed (exact speed unknown). Car suddenly stopped in street causing me to jerk forward in driver seat. As the car stopped, I saw the orange BRAKE symbol appear in front dash. I was accelerating at time of incident. I was not using the brakes. I was injured with severe whiplash. Pain so severe that I also made an error with administration of a pain reliever when I arrived home. This put me and my passenger at risk due to the failure of what I learned was the CMBS in my vehicle. If another car was following too closely behind me at the time the car abruptly stopped, this could have been a more serious accident. This incident happened today 11/22/2023 at approximately 11:30 am EST. I have not had an opportunity to contact the dealer as I have been in pain since it happened. Also, a few weeks ago, I noticed the BRAKE symbol appeared while driving while accelerating. The car jerked but it did not fully stop. Date of that incident unknown. The car has not yet been inspected by anyone since today’s incident. I found information about the CMBS issue for my car type after searching for a known recall online this evening.

Doors locks malfunctioned intermittently as it doesn't lock and a beep goes on. One has to re-opened the door for the door to lock permanently until you need to get back into the car. The problem occurred from December 1 2022 to April 15 2023. It could be any doors. It is a safety issue for myself and others. I brought the Honda Touring several times to the Honda dealer and they claim it could not be reproduced. However I have multiple tapes to confirm the problem. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I bought the car at Auto Fair New Hampshire and the problem started after December 2022 till April 15 , 2023. Then it completely stopped . I brought up the same concern to Honda Auburn and Customer Service Honda with video tapes and it got nowhere. The same problem started again on November 1, 2023......

Power system problem light started coming on soon after we bought the car new. It has been towed to Barber Honda in Bakersfield many times- it dies, won’t start. It is on the 3rd battery within 1st year. The last incident was 10/23/23 the car suddenly lost all power in an area of mountains- I was stranded without cell phone service, it was dangerous. Finally had it towed again- this time they replaced the fuel pump. We have had a lawyer since 4/4/23 and Honda has refused to do anything to about this car! I am scared to drive it.

I was in a dedicated lane to make a left turn. There was no vehicle in front of me and no pedestrians in the crosswalk. I was coasting to the light at about 20mph or less as I could see that it was red and because I am familiar with the intersection , I knew it would not turn green immediately. At 2 to 3 car lengths back from where I was going to stop all of a sudden the car jolted to a stop. The car immediately shut down (quit running). There was no car behind me or I am sure my car would have been rear ended. I got out of the car to see if there was something under it or if I could see if something had fallen off the underside of the car. I tried to restart the car but it would not start. By that time there were 2 cars behind me waiting to turn. I got out of the car and went back to the nearest car and told the driver she needed to go around my car. I got back into my car and tried to restart it and it started. I had absolutely no warning before this happened. I did not take the car for an inspection but I did call the salesman (as soon as I could). He said it might be because of the forward collision system and suggested that I could turn it off. He said that the system is very sensitive and even a leaf might set it off. Even though it was in October, it was not a windy day and most trees in my area had not started losing their leaves. I bought this car because of the safety equipment as I am [XXX] and in good health, but I am a practical person. I did tell the salesman that if there is another incident that I would be coming in for an inspection. I have been anxious about this and have learned others have had this problem. The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the contact heard an unusual cracking sound. The contact stated that the next morning while getting ready to enter the vehicle, he noticed a three-inch stress crack across the bottom center of the front windshield. The contact stated that the following morning, when he entered the vehicle, the stress crack had extended to six inches across the bottom center of the front windshield. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,550.

The blind spot warning system doesn’t make a warning sound. The blind spot warnings are by rear view warning lights but they don’t always work and are difficult to see. I have had numerous occasions where I didn’t see or hear anything and I almost changed lanes into another vehicle! There needs to be a sound to alert the driver. Have not discussed with dealer yet.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked in the driveway, the contact’s daughter’s head had got stuck in the window. The contact’s grandmother attempted to lower the window, but the window failed to roll down. When the window was finally rolled down, the contact’s daughter was unconscious. The contact’s daughter needed CPR and was left with bruising on her neck and upper back. The contact’s daughter received medical attention in the ER. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

Overnight on August 14 - 15th, 2023, it rained heavily in my area (at least 1/2"- 1" of rain fell overnight). I went out to my car at 11:30 AM on August 15,2023, to find all 4 windows AND the moonroof opened. The inside of my CRV Hybrid touring vehicle was saturated deep with water. I took it to the dealership (Motorworld in Wilkes-Barre, PA) to have the vehicle checked for a computer type malfunction. No codes were retained in the vehicles memory. I was informed that Hondas now have a key fob feature that will open all the windows and moonroof IF the buttons are pushed in the proper sequence. I read the entire 689 page owner's manual when I purchased the car new in October, 2022, 2 sentences on page on page 183 briefly mention this "feature" to let hot air out of your vehicle. (Press door unlock key one, press and hold door unlock button again and hold it within 10 seconds, and press it again and hold it within 10 seconds and your windows will all come down as well as moon roof open. THERE IS NO WAY TO DISABLE THIS FEATURE. I do not play with my key fob, no children in home. All the seats, roof, and floor are supersaturated with rain water. This water situation can cause MOLD, just as if the car was in a flood, which can be extremely dangerous/ lethal to a person like me with respiratory issues. Also, electrical components may have been damaged because of a huge amount of water. Honda was notified and they said, call your insurance company and file a claim. The problem it caused me needs to be rectified by Honda and made right by them to me. Of note, the car nor the fob notifies the person that all the windows and moonroof were completely opened. So much damage occurred. Rain water also entered the heater/ AC ducts. Stagnation can lead to mold growth in them.
