2018 HONDA CR-V Complaints

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. All lights on dash board on and would not cut off. We were told it was the battery that was bad. The battery in the vehicle was not a year old. We purchased the new battery and within a couple weeks it happened again with all of the lights on. This is a safety matter because this can cause problem with the heads to the motors or can just stop running. We took the car back to the dealer and then they said it maybe the fuel injectors. Now, we are paying for another maybe. This car is sending off different codes. No, one has inspected this car except the dealer. I was informed that if not inspected by Honda that it would not count. No, other symptoms before all lights on dash board just coming on. When the lights on dash board came on it was all light for all operations of the vehicle. We are not paying for fuel injectors to be replaced based on recommendation from Honda. We have several people we know that are currently having this problem with their CRV. Please look into this expensive repair. My car is a 2018 with only 40,000 miles on it. This is not a car driven on a daily basis to work or anything. This is a safety matter as well due to it may just shut off while driving.

Started having issues with steering rack about a year and a half ago. Steering would stick and make creaking noises. Brought it to my local Honda dealership last spring and they diagnosed it as needing steering rack replacement which would cost about $4,000. I reached out to Honda Corporate and they said the best they could do would to reduce the repair by $1,000. I told them I don’t think I should have to be responsible because 1) I didn’t to anything to cause it and 2) the CRV only had 75,000 miles on it. From going online I’m not the only one to have steering issues on this model. I really don’t feel that comfortable driving the vehicle and am reaching out to you to not only document this problem but also some advice as to how to move forward. The driver side sun visor became very difficult to operate and when trying to place in back in the stored / upright position it will not go into place and hangs down 2-4" that can cause visibility problems especially for taller drivers. This is a very common defect on several Honda vehicles as seen on Honda Forums or a Google search of Honda Sunvisor problem.

My vehicle became difficult to steer, similar to driving with all the tires low on air. I made an appointment with Proctor Honda. They determined the Electronic Power Steering Rack was sticking and replaced it with a 5320-TLB-A23 : G/BOX ASSY, EPS. Honda assured me this was not a recall issue. After paying the $4365.66 repair charge, I determined there was a Service Bulletin 23-037 issued for this same problem. It applied to 2018 Honda CRVs. However, it only covered 54 vehicles and my vehicle was not included. This seems unreasonable given it appears to be the identical issue as the vehicles subject to the recall. I'm a 76 year old female and have no means to challenge this other than to ask for your help in determining if I am being treated fairly. If it truly is not the same issue, then I understand. Mileage is 87,661.
