Car slams on brakes by itself. Once with large metal plate used for construction. Going about 40-45mph. Another time when someone turned completely and it slammed on the brakes nowhere near a vehicle.

While driving on the highway (left lane), my car braked itself (while going ~70 mph). The brakes then wouldn’t release for about half a minute. I was very lucky that no one rear ended me, and it was very scary. The sensor has sometimes warned me to brake, even when there isn’t anything in front of me. However, this is the first time the car stopped itself.

I was driving and randomly , even though there was no imminent danger , the brake warning light flashed across my dashboard and immediately the car automatically slammed down on the brake even though my foot was not on the pedal. Luckily the person behind me did not collide into me. This is the second time it has happened in one week. I take my car to the Honda dealership tomorrow.

On two separate occasions, the car shut off shortly after the car was turned on. After the first occasion, we thought it was a battery problem and called AAA. They said the battery was in good condition ( it was replaced in 3.2023) and the car turned on after a jump start. Several weeks later the same thing happened and the car would not turn on even after a jump start. I had the car towed to a local auto store where they told us the work up showed a P0087 error - low fuel pressure. This was a felt to be an issue with the fuel pump and recommended we take the car to Honda as this was supposed to be under recall for CRVs from 2018 and 2019. We towed the car to Honda and they confirmed it was fuel pump issue but our car VIN was NOT associated with the current recall. The dealership and Honda Corporate ultimately refused to cover the cost of repair/replacement of fuel pump as they said our vehicle is currently not under the recall despite the fact that our Honda CRV is also from 2019. I am filing this complaint to notify NTHSB of the issue we had and whether our vehicle and potentially other vehicles would need to be included in the current recall.

Two issues are going on and have been going on since I have had the vehicle: 1. The car will spontaneously brake HARD when going down the road with no particular reason. It most frequently happens on the highway and it happens sporadically so it is difficult to replicate. I see it often but not all the time when crossing under an overpass or going off on an exit. The amount of brake use varies as well, sometimes just a tap and sometimes quite significant, losing 20-30 mph in seconds. 2. The infotainment system goes on the blink. Often starts with the brightness setting flashing up on the screen when nothing has been touched. Then it will go away, then brightness will blink back up, then the whole screen is useless / frozen or just disappears all together. I have a few videos of this. The ONLY way to get it to work again is by stopping the car, turning it off and restarting it. This obviously is not possible at certain times and can be really difficult to deal with when going through a big city and relying on the map to help you navigate both roads and traffic (like when it happened on the George Washington Bridge in NYC).
