2018 HONDA CR-V Complaints

Multiple lights on dash and car would not go. My car could not be driven because of the risk of cutting off and someone hitting me. I took my car to the dealership and had the same problem as my other Honda back in 2022.

Se me ha apagado varias veces al arrancar cuando me voy al trabajo . Y tengo que volverlo a encender . Siento el motor débil. El cuerpo electrónico del acelerador no anda bien. Cuando quiero acelerar rápido se me queda en stand by y hasta los 3 segundos responde el motor. Cuando estoy en un stop aplicando el freno se escucha el motor como que se quiere apagar y empieza a temblar la camioneta. A veces el motor está acelerado a 1000 rpm con el freno aplicado y a los 3 o 5 segundos ya baja a 0 rpm. En Braman Honda Miami me dicen que no tienen las piezas aún y me puedo accidentar si se me apaga el motor en carretera me pueden chocar por detrás y provocar un gran accidente. Necesito URGENTE que la reparen .

While driving at 35-40 MPH the Automatic Braking System engaged randomly with no other vehicles or obstacles in front of or to the sides of vehicle. The 2018 Honda CR-V brakes engaged forcefully bringing the vehicle to a complete stop.

The contact stated that he had taken the vehicle to the dealer in March of 2023. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The Body Control Module malfunctioned in my CRV. The alarm was going off at random and the car would start into accessory mode by itself after being shut off (after use). This is a safety concern as it draws attention to me, the driver, when parking my car in a public space. For females, this can be scary and is especially dangerous as after this the car will typically not start, nor will the doors lock, for several minutes. If it occurs in a garage, I worry about any emissions coming from the car (carbon dioxide) if the car were to start on its own, which is what was happening in my 2 car garage. I took the car to the dealer, who is replacing the body control module. I also read online that Honda is recalling certain 2018-2020 Accord Sedan, Accord Hybrid, and 2019-2020 Insight vehicles due to this issue, though 2018 CRVs were not included. The problem first appeared 1/6/2024, there were no warnings prior to it appearing. I had to get the battery jumped as it ended up dying and the same situation happened - I then took the car to the dealership.

My car has regularly over the years I have owned it (brand new) hit the brakes on its own. The braking is so violent that all the contents of my car fly forward. I have had this type of braking occur when there is no obstruction in the road, no indication of a front end collision about to occur, nor lane crossings. This has happened a handful of times, less than 10, since 2018. However, my front crash detection has also triggered the BRAKE visual and audible warning more times that I can count that were unwarranted. It has triggered on light poles on the side of the road and the Centerville Turnpike Bridge regularly (Chesapeake, VA). There has also been one incident where I was braking and I was stopping in time, but the detection system decided to slam on the brakes even further. The brake pedal literally pulled away from my foot when I was already pressing it to the floor. The result of these incidents is my injured shoulder, sitting stalled in the middle of a busy street/highway, and being stunned as a focused driver. The car does not allow the driver to move right away and it can cause even more detrimental accidents.

Video is attached. Apon starting my car I can have a electrical/computer problem where all my safety systems start flashing problems or warnings. This can go on for a week and then disappear. When on I loose my cruise control, emergency braking and warning, low tire light stays on and other emergency systems show failure. My dealership said it could be low fuel pressure but not sure. Car runs great. I should not loose safety systems if pressure is low. I will be going back in and have a serious talk with service supervisor. Again I have attached a video of the drivers dash.
