A passenger became locked and trapped in the rear seat compartment after the driver and key fob walked away from the vehicle. The childproof lock setting in either the locked or in the unlocked position does not eliminate the trap. The problem is not addressed in the driver manual. It is highly likely that a passenger will eventually be killed as a result of this design in the event they are trapped in either hot or cold weather.

The floor wire harness under the driver's seat was incorrectly routed and caused the harness to break when the seat was moved to close to the end of the back. This break then caused the a fuse to blow "freezing" the drivers seat and the Secondary Restrain System (SRS) to fail with a warning light. The car was inspected by Howdy Honda and confirmed that the cable (harness) was routed incorrectly. Nobody else has inspected the vehicle. This incident occurred in may of 2021. Here are the words from [XXX], the Honda Agent that inspected the car: Hello [XXX], The problem with your vehicle is that the section of harness going from the floor to your seat was wrapped around a portion of the lower seat frame. Because the harness was wrapped and did not have it normal length of travel the seat could not move it's full length of travel. The reason that the seat restraint lights are on is because of the added tension on these wires from being wrapped up. some of the wires broke resulting in the warning indicators illuminating. This is a safety issue for several reasons. One you cannot adjust your seat to comfortably fit a driver of different sizes. Secondly with the warning indicators on for the supplemental restraint system, in the event of a collision, the airbags, seat restraints, and other safety features will not activate. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

My car failed to chage gears that I had to get car towed to a Honda dealer. The technician stated that the reason for failure was unknown but just resetted the system. I'm afraid that this might happen again.

There were 2 recalls on my car and both have been serviced. But I keep having issues with a whole host of sensors including check engine light that lights up every week and the car is practically unusable. When the check engine and other lights/sensors trigger, the gas pedal is practically useless and cannot accelerate the car. This is a big problem when I'm on the road and might lead to catastrophic accident. I have taken my car several times to have it checked and I'm still having issues. Of late I keep hearing a whole lot of fan that are whirling and I could feel heat inside the car even when a/c is on. I have a feeling that this car has serious cooling issues and I'm feel unsafe driving this car. I would appreciate your help in this regard.

I BOUGHT MY NEW 2019 INSIGHT 4DR CVT TOURING JAN 2019. AFTER LESS THEN TWO YEARS OLD 5 WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, ACC-ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LKAS-LANE KEEPING ASSIST, COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION AND AUTO HIGH BEAM. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER THEY FOUND THE CODE B2A60-49 - MULTIPURPOSE CAMERA UNIT INTERNAL ELECTRONIC MALFUNCTION. BECAUSE THE CAR HAD OVER 30,000 MILES (OUTSIDE THERE WARRANTY) THEY TOLD ME TO CALL HONDA AMERICA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HAVE THEM APPROVE REPAIRS. MY CALL TO HONDA AMERICA WAS A CALL FROM HELL, RUDE AND NO HELP WHATEVER, I ASKED A DOZEN TIMES TO PLEASE TALK WITH A SUPERVISOR AND THE ANSWER WAS NO. I WAS THEN CUT OFF. ALL THE SAFETY FEATURES THE COME WITH THE CAR ARE NOT NOT WORKING AND HONDA WILL NOT FIX IT. FOR ME TO HAVE IT FIXED WILL BE OVER $1600 (SEE ATTACHMENT)

FUEL PUMP REPLACED IN 10/2020 FOR RECALL 20V314000. IN 1/2021 I WAS PASSING A VEHICLE ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING, THE VEHICLE STARTED BUCKING, AND I LOST ACCELERATION. AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE CAR FOR A FEW MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS. A LOCAL SHOP READ THE CODE AND REPORTED A MISFIRE ON CYLINDERS 3 AND 4. HONDA TECHNICIANS COULDN'T RECREATE THE ISSUE OR VIEW ANY CODE HISTORY, BUT DURING A TEST DRIVE FOUND THAT THE FUEL GAUGE HAD STOPPED FUNCTIONING. UPON INSPECTION OF THE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED FUEL PUMP IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE WIRES WERE CRUMBLING. THE FUEL PUMP INSTALLED DURING A RECALL CAUSED THE EXACT ISSUE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO AVOID. THE SERVICE ADVISOR QUOTED SOMEONE AT HONDA AS SAYING THEY'VE SEEN A FEW OF THESE ISSUES COME BACK AFTER THE INITIAL RECALL.

THEY STATE THAT THE PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED TO THE DEALER, AND THAT I SHOULD CALL AGAIN IN A COUPLE WEEKS. THEY ARE NOT RESOLVING THIS ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER.
