2020 HONDA ODYSSEY Complaints

Engine recently began making noise and the car was taken into Honda. The dealer checked engine components to find the cause and recommended that we remove oil pan to inspect the issue because they assumed it might be engine bearing related. Before we could schedule the service I was driving with my family on the highway when we heard a loud noise and complete loss of power. I was able to move over avoiding other cars to reach the shoulder and come to a stop. The car would not start or go into any gear. Car was towed to shop. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The car has not been inspected yet. Currently at shop being evaluated. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Engine was making noise at the dealership when it went for service. There was no concern made by dealer stating car was unsafe to drive. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Was inspected before the car broke down, but currently being evaluated by local shop. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There was an unknown noise coming from the engine, and dealer stated they needed to remove oil pan to diagnose the noise but stated it could be bearing related. The dealership did not say the car was unsafe or should not be driven. Before we could look into the issue more the car broke down on the highway.

All Honda Sensing technology is not working and brake system indicator is on. ACC, LKAS, Collision mitigation, auto high beam, road departure. I read online that a lot of Honda Odyssey owners are experiencing same problem. It could be the front camera sensor.I have always had electrical problems with car. There crackling sounds when the radio or music is playing on the stereos.

The rear hatch will randomly close after it is opened. The hatch will not stop closing if someone is standing under it. Several times now it has closed while someone is getting something out of the back and you can not make it stop without quickly getting out of the way and pressing the button. Both, myself and my wife have been hit pretty hard on the head by the hatch closing on us. This is a HUGE safety concern as I have children that could easily be harmed by the sheer power of this hatch. I have had the issue inspected by an independent shop and was informed that it would need both new power struts at a cost of over $1,200! The van is only 5 years old with 75,000 miles! There are no warning lights, messages or problems prior to the failure.

While driving, all at once several messages displayed, all of which are related to forward facing camera. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Auto High Beam disabled along with the BRAKE SYSTEM light turning on When I researched the internet, there are alot a people report this problem with the HONDA forward facing camera witch supports the systems listed this failures. Talking to friends and neighbors they have had the same issues, it is about a $2000 fix to replace and recalibrate the camera link to user forum [XXX] Most of the reported issues including mine are related to heat, the camera is in an enclosure located at the top center of the windshield. We just had heat indexes above 100 degrees. The camera is always hot to the touch. I also had this issue in the past put happened whole under warranty. The auto idle start/stop feature failed to recognize a bad battery and shut the car off while I was stopped in the left turn lane. The vehicle failed to start and lost all power, including hazard lights and brake lights. I had no way of indicating to other drivers behind me that the vehicle was disabled other than getting out of the vehicle and waving them around me. This happened while I was taking my son to school and could have resulted in us getting in an accident or causing another accident. Honda was not able to identify root cause and replaced the battery. I do not trust this vehicle as reliable or safe any longer.

The multipurpose camera in the vehicle failed, causing multiple warning lights to come on related to the collision warning, blind spot warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and others. The dealership said it needed to be replaced, as it was no longer working and none of these features would work without replacement

The multipurpose camera that sits behind the windshield has completely failed, deactivating many automated safety features. The dealer quoted $2700.00 to replace.

High pressure Fuel pump makes Loud noice. Fuel line vibrates. Check engine light on, Shows error code Low fuel pressue.

I have been getting front end clunking noise since I bought vehicle. Honda is not able to identify and resolve issue after taking to multiple dealers. And after 5 years and 45k miles white paint started flaking in different penal of car

The ADAS front windshield camera failed on our 2020 Honda Odyssey. This vehicle is too new to have a failure like this and this is a very common issue that I have seen across all Honda Odysseys of same generation. Honda needs to be held accountable.
