Driving in traffic, switched lanes into a turn lane and came to a stop. The van put itself in park and wouldn't do anything for 5 minutes...the van kept running. It couldn't be shifted out of park, it couldn't be turned off. After approximately 5 minutes was able to put it back in drive and drive away.

My vehicle has the engine idle option and shuts the engine off when idle in traffic or at traffic lights, etc. There have been incidents where the engine doesn't just shut off but it powers off the entire car and doesn't want to turn back on. My battery is fine because i just had service done on it and they tested the battery and its 100% fine. This issue is not a battery issue for my car. I literally had PTSD when the car shut off though because it happened at a location on the roadway where i had previously been rear ended in another vehicle and after my car shut off this time - my anxiety was very high that day and i was literally shaking. I was scared not knowing what was wrong with my car.

I had a Recall on my 2020 Honda Odyssey Vin # [XXX] for NHTSA Recall # 23V-431. The recall was for rear camera failure. The Fix was to replace MOST cable harness. In Early October 2023 my rear view camera did fail and no longer conformed to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No 111, “Rear Visibility” I took my Honda Odyssey to Serra Brighton Honda for repair , Serra Brighton Honda replaced the cable and it did not fix the problem. I was told it was the camera which was not part of the recall and was charged $302.42 for replacement of the camera, Invoice # [XXX]. It only seems logical to me that if “Rear Visibility” is a Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard , the camera should have been included as part of the fix. It could have been possible that the cable shorted out and damaged the camera’s electronics. My Honda only has 21,500 miles and is always stored in a garage and has never been in an accident. All advanced driver assistance systems have stopped working while driving. This has also caused brake and transmission errors to show.

LKAS, Adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning all malfunctioned. Dealer inspected and determined it is an overheated camera that controls all the mentioned safety functions. This happened while driving on highway and has never worked again. I did confirm with the dealer this is the 3 instance they have seen of this in the past 3 months.

My wife was driving our honda odyssey on a state highway and it began lurching and drastically reduced speed while in 65 mph traffic. The vehicle almost created a large accident as it uncontrollably and suddenly reduced gears and instantly slowed well below the rate of travel of the vehicles on the road. She managed to pull over on the side of the road but was unable to move the vehicle . There was never a check engine indicator or any other warning signs prior to this happening. The vehicle was towed to the local honda dealership in Scranton PA. Today the service center there stated that the transmission fluid was charred and burnt up gears in the transmission. This is a huge safety concern as there was no warning signs of the issue until the vehicle rapidly and suddenly shifted down gears and slowed to almost a complete stop along the highway. The vehicle is only 3 years old and is 900 miles over the powertrain warranty. Has there been a check engine light or any indicator we could have had the problem addressed before it became catastrophic and put my families lives in jeopardy. The vehicle has been regularly maintained

The contact owns a 2020 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds during rainy weather, he attempted to defrost the windows; however, the HVAC failed to operate as designed with warm air coming from the HVAC system. As a result, the windows failed to defrost as needed, making it difficult to see the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the blower motor had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 32,400.

Vehicle driver side sliding door has issues closing. Mentioned to dealer, but dealer dismisses it as possibly from water residue after car washes. Door needs to be manually closed with pressure to latch. Vehicle has lost all electrical function while in Economy mode while in idle mode while at red lights and also while parked with accessories running. Vehicle batter life was verified and in excellent condition at battery replacement shop.

I have had 2 major issues, the idle stop feature has multiple times caused my car to stall. It has even happened on the highway during traffic where the car went into idle-stop mode and would not restart the engine. Last week it happened again on a major road and the only way to restart the car is shift to park in the middle of a busy 4 lane road, turn off the car completely and then attempt a restart. The other issue was with the rear sliding door, my 3 year old son closed the automatic sliding door by pressing the button and his hand was crushed/ stuck until I was able to reopen it. I have called Honda who told me I could have it looked at but it would cost me for the diagnostic and repair if needed due to the fact that it was one month past their 3 year warranty period.
