2016 HYUNDAI GENESIS- Port Hueneme, CA
Car experience loss of control to accelerator while driving on major highway. The vehicle's speed coasted down from highway speed of 65mph to low 50s before vehicle was safely stopped on roadside emergency breakdown lane. This incident could have easily resulted in a collision with faster-moving traffic. The vehicle has been transported to a dealer for inspection to determine the cause, however this episode appears very similar to a documented issue in 2016 with a faulty fuel harness and low pressure fuel pump. No warnings or indications were present until after the car was turned off and restarted.

Please refer to the articles below, this issue happens after 60k miles & never found a car it was fixed before 60k. owners are spending over $800 to $1000 to get fixed. In Korea, it was Recalled back in 2021. Our genesis are all made in Korea. When I contact the Hyundai USA. They won't honor the same service with U.S. please look into it. thank you for your time. https://genesisowners.com/genesis-forum/threads/2015-genisis-sedan-3-8l-oil-light-issue.37960/ https://genesisowners.com/genesis-forum/threads/oil-level-pressure-light-going-on-and-off.31984/ https://genesisowners.com/genesis-forum/threads/2016-genesis-sedan-oil-pressure-sensor.45619/#post-549619 Please translate to English for better understanding. http://www.consumerpost.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=302770

The engine oil pressure sensor is failing on a lot of these vehicles at around 60k miles. The repair is costly due to where the sensor is located. Repair is no less than $1000 dollars for a part that costs $180. I believe a precedent was set when in Korea Hyundai was forced to issue a recall. http://www.consumerpost.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=302770

The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Genesis. The contact stated an oil change was recommended every 3 months and if it was overdue, the vehicle would stall and would sputter while driving. In addition, there was a burning odor entering the vehicle through the vents. No warning light was illuminated however there was an intermittent chime indicating that the oil level was low. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who informed that the failure was related to an unknown recall and referred the contact to the dealer. The contact called the dealer who confirmed the VIN was not included in a related recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

About 5-6 months ago, when turning left or right, the steering wheel started essentially locking in that position, and I have to yank it back to center. It will not self-center. The dealer was not able to fix it, and it's a very dangerous car to drive now. I will not let any other members of my family drive it. Also, I've had a severe drivetrain vibration for about a year, and over $7,000 was spent on a new driveshaft and transfer case. It is now worse than it was and the dealer doesn't know what to do. Even with only 34,000 miles on the car, it is out of warranty, and Hyundai doesn't seem to care. I have installed brand new tires hoping that it might help both situations, but it didn't. I'm just at my wit's end now. I guess I will just have to park the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was driving at night on highway and tried to switch lanes. After I gave left signal and start changing lanes headlights turned off for several seconds. I almost panic and pushed the brake pedal. It was the Multifunction Switch which was going from Auto mode to Off.

There wasn't an accident, I have a 2017 hyundai genesis 3.8. I'm wondering why nothing is being done about these cars from hyundai that have these suspension problems that is not our fault. Now I have to fix the problem and it came from the factory this way.
