2013 HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE Complaints

The engine consumed oil and prematurely wore out the rod bearings. This is an issue that has already been settled in a class action lawsuit. The only issue is my car isn’t included in the lawsuit even though it is classified as the same motor that prematurely fails.

I was driving to work on 07/14/2022 and my brake pedal was going soft. I than got an abs light and a traction control light. I was concerned and took it in to get a health report on it and to see if there were any codes. The service center than pulled a c2380 code for a Faulty HECU. I started researching this code for myself and seen that there have been recalls for this exact thing for the Hyundai genesis sedans but not the coupes. Please Hyundai revise your list and add the Hyundai Genesis Coupes on to it and make this right.

2013 HYUNDAI GENESIS 2DR 3.8 CONNECTING ROD BEARING FAILURE ON LIVE TRAFFIC WITH NO LIGHTS OR WARNINGS STILL, CAR AT DEALER. REVIEWED PREVIOUS HYUNDAI RECALLS FOR THIS ENGINE COMPONENT THAT CAUSED FIRES AND HYUNDAI DENIED WARRANTY CLAIM.

The contact's son owns a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. The contact stated that while his son was driving at low speeds, the vehicle made abnormally loud noises. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the rear axle mounting bolt was fractured. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Vehicle braking fades in a random manner. An independent service center technician experienced the problem during one test drive. The technician assessed the braking system and stated that the master cylinder is operating correctly and there is no air in hydraulic lines. The tech suggested that it could be an issue with the hydraulic ECU which was part of a recall campaign for prior year models. This condition puts the safety of driver, passengers, and other vehicles on the road at risk. No alerts, warnings, or indicators have been triggered on the dash.

VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AS I WAS TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY VEHICLE IMMEDIATE POWERED DOWN, SHUT OFF AND STARTED TO SMOKE AND WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO START VEHICLE UP IT STARTED TO SPARK.. I HAVE NOTICED HYUNDAI HAS HAD MANY RECALLS ON THEIR ENGINES AND THEY ARE AWARE

TRANSMISSION FAILED AFTER PUTTING IN GEAR IT MAKES A THUMP EVERY TIME I PUT INTO REVERSE AND DRIVE THIS IS MY SECOND TRANSMISSION FROM HYUNDAI

I WAS DRIVING AND MY HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING, SOONER I CAME TO REALIZE THE HORN DOESN'T EITHER. I DIAGNOSED THE RELAY TO BE OKAY.

BRAKES FAILED, BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. ITS VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND SOMETIMES I END UP NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP AND HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE RED LIGHT OR INTO THE DITCH. THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT THE CAR AND SAID THAT IT IS THE HECU. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS REALLS FOR HYUNDAI VEHICLES FOR THE HECU INCLUDING THE 2011 , 2012 GENESIS. AND NOW MORE HYUNDAIS ARE BEING RECALLED THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED !

WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREETS MY CAR STARTED FEELING DIFFERENT IT WOULD JUMP GEARS AND GET STUCK.I WILL COME TO STOP OR SIGNAL LIGHTS OR PULL OVER TO THE SIDE ON BUSY STREETS AND FREEWAYS.SHUT OFF MY VEHICLE THAN RESTART IT AGAIN.SOMETIMES IT WOULD HELP AND MOST OF THE TIME IT WOULDN'T.I HAD A FIRE LAST YEAR A SMALL BOX UNDER MY HOOD HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE I REPORTED IT TO MY INSURANCE. ELECTRIC BOX THAT GOT ON FIRE. WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY PASSENGER TIRE CAME OFF I HAD WENT THROUGH 3 TIRES IN ONE DAY THE BOLTS KEEP GETTING LOSE.I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND NOW MY MECHANIC TOLD ME MY ENGINE IS NO GOOD .WHAT DO I DO I PURCHASE THIS USED VEHICLE MARCH 23 2019. AND JUST STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS ALL SINCE APRIL 2020
