I was driving down the NYS Thruway in mid December and the check engine light started flashing. Before I could reach the next exit (maybe 3 minutes at most) the engine stopped accelerating and I had to make a choice to pull over on the side of the highway before I lost speed altogether. We had it towed back to our mechanic and it was a complete engine failure, without warning.

On [XXX], my brakes failed on my 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid on a busy interstate in Atlanta, GA. I had it towed to Ed Voyles Hyundai in Smyrna, GA and after "looking at it" they were not able to diagnose the issue. I informed them my brakes went out, they ran a diagnostic test and found where the message came across the dash, but stated it was fine and to bring it back if it happened again. On [XXX], it happened again. My brakes failed and the same alert was sounding off in my vehicle. I took it to Ed Voyles again and they were finally able to determine it was the ABS module on my vehicle. This was due to an electrical short in the brake system. I found out it is the same part as the recall. I emailed the service manager and he agreed. However, Hyundai Motor America will not allow them to remedy the issue because they haven't "come up with a remedy". The recall is listed as severe! Not only will it catch on fire, but the brakes also fail! There is a burning smell that comes from under my car and I am not sure how there is no remedy for a recall that could cost HMA way more than to replace some ABS modules. I don't feel safe driving my vehicle and I am not sure how to get more attention to this matter. It is immensely unsafe to allow millions of people to drive in a potential failing brake fire hazard. When I returned to my car on [XXX] after shopping I noticed that a crack had suddenly appeared in the passenger side of the dashboard above where the passenger side airbag is located. When I searched the internet to find repair options I discovered that Hyundai issued a recall in 2020 for 2011-2014 due to dashboard cracking and that the recall affected over 580,000 vehicles. I have searched the NHTSA website, but my vehicle is not included in this recall. I am contacting you to make you aware that there are other vehicles with the same problem that have not been included in the original recall. I am asking that you expand the recall to include all affected vehicles. Below is a link to the article I am citing. [XXX] Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Please contact me for any questions. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My 2013 Hyundai Sonata 2 recalls that Hyundai are refusing to fix. My engine has been consuming oil since 10/15/2023. 2-3 quartz oil has to be put in the car every 5 days. Some of the recalls were satisfied on 11/15/2023. I took my car South Shore Hyundai located at 360 Sunrise Hwy, Valley Stream, NY 11581 on 1/4/2024 They are refusing to replace the engine . my car was under warranty at the time of the recall. However, I never received a letter to notify me of the recall. Everything the recall states my engine has been doing. I reached out to the corporate office with no resolution. Hyundai says I have to be the original owner which is absurd. After careful research I see where they have replaced vehicles similar to this nature free of charge after consumers hired a lawyer, which I can't afford at the moment. My 23 year old daughter uses the car for work and I fear for her safety. I am replacing the fuel injectors and spark plugs today as suggested by the dealer. I am asking for help in getting the engine approval for replacement. Thank you.
