The climate control switch on my vehicle as well as many others has burned up the wiring that plugs into it behind the dash and started smoking and actually almost burned my car to the ground.

My ac unit switch melted due to the wires getting too hot and causing the unit to no longer work. I believe this is a safety issue due to possible fire with the wires getting burned. After doing some research this is a common issue in my car and I believe hyundai should be required to replace my unit before it causes more damage inside the unit.

UNKNOWN At least four occasions, my Veloster stalled at an intersection within a two month time period. On at least two unique occasions, the vehicle stalled out in the middle of oncoming traffic at night. A check engine light appeared after the vehicle stalled out. The dealership has inspected and reportedly performed work to resolve the engine issue; however, after bring the vehicle for servicing, the engine issue persisted. Hyundai service manager advise me to bring in the vehicle four times; however, the engine light continues to appear after reported work has been performed. Note: Regular maintenance has been performed on the vehicle.

On March 8, 2023, I was waiting at a red light and since the weather was really nice, it was cloudy and not too cold I decided to open my sunroof and when all of the sudden I felt glass raining all over me, my sunroof exploded! I got little cuts over my face and arms because of the glass, and my back and arms felt itchy because of the tiny little pieces of glass. I was on my way to pick up the girls from daycare, I'm so grateful they were not with me at the incident moment and that the car was not on motion. Now, they are charging me over $1000 dlls on repairs. I just got this car less than 2 months ago, I barely pay my first payment and this happens!?

When driving my vehicle on the highway, I took an off ramp and came to a complete stop at a stop light. When coming to the stop my car completely shut off. It would not turn over or anything. I popped the hood and didn't see any sign of oil or fluid leaks from the engine bay or underneath the vehicle. After getting it towed to the nearest mechanic they checked for codes and nothing popped up. They checked my oil (which I change my fluids regularly and have documents to prove so) and found there was only half of a quart of oil in my engine. They drained it and in the sample they found metallic particles in the oil. Now my engine is knocking anytime I press on the gas. Looking over the type of engine I have (Gamma GDI) there was an issued recall on that specific type of engine for the exact same problem I have across Hyundai and Kia vehicles sharing the same type of engine. I contacted Hyundai but they refuse to work on my vehicle since my VIN doesn't pop up for the recall even though all the supporting documents and diagnosis I have show, that the engine problem I have are the exact same as the recall shows. I even gave Hyundai their own Technical Service Bulletin that was on their website showing my year make and model should be worked on. Now Hyundai keeps telling me its a warranty issue, not a recall issue ignoring everything I've given them to support my claim even after stating how they had a class action lawsuit they LOST in California for this same issue of the engine malfunctioning and then would start knocking right after the warranty would end (my vehicle is at 109500 miles.) I am at a complete loss and don't know what to do since this was my first bigger vehicle purchase that I still owe on and they want me to pay 10k for a refurbished engine.

Driving on cruise control on interstate , the 2014 Hyundai Veloster felt like it lost power .The engine light flashed a few times . White smoke came out of rear as started to merge it made a low clank noise from the engine compartment . Pulled over off of interstate and popped hood to check the engine and realized there was fire coming from all over the engine . 2014 Hyundai Veloster financed not even made the first payment either. Had 120,043 miles on it . Dealership claimed that they did a recon on it before they turned it over to us . We did take it back in because the engine turned off as he was idling at stop lights. It was harder and harder to get started , it got to the point where it would stop running while moving . The dealership could not Replicate the problem and therefore turned it back over to us . Codes P0302 and P0335 came on . There were no recalls on the 2014 models but the year before and after . Doesn’t make sense , since they all had engine problems , catching on fire .

While driving down I95 south at 10:30 at night my car made a noise like I ran over a cardboard box. Then smoke started to come out of the hood. I I went to the emergency lane hoping it was a flat tire. There was oil all over the ground and car. No warning lights or car acting funny. Cruise was set and driving home with my mom. Took car to dealership and verified the block had cracked. I asked why, the car only had 65800 miles on it. They said my last oil change looked good, they have no idea. Not covered under warranty. Only 2015 and 2016 are covered for motor failure. Mine is a 2014 I checked the recalls. They charged me $9100 to replace the motor. When I picked up the car I asked again why it cracked. They said sometimes they just don't know why. My mom and I were stranded on the freeway for over two hours waiting for a tow truck and it decide to rain on us 3 times.
