2022 JEEP COMPASS Complaints

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while stopped at a stop light, the contact attempted to accelerate however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power and shut off with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact attempt to restart the vehicle several times but the vehicle would not restart. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the contact was informed that the starter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 12,000.

The digital dashboard display appears dim appears dim during the day. It is as if the display is stuck in night mode, so you cannot see the digital speedometer, or any warnings such as gas, temperature, tires, etc. Brought to the dealer twice and was told there is no fix and engineering is working on a resolution.

Dash lights, hazard button, radio stuck in night mode. Fuel gauge, speedometer, engine temperature and check engine/ tire pressure gauge are not visible in daylight. Creates a hazard when unable to see viable information like a flat tire, engine overheating, or low on gas. Tried to get it fixed but was told jeep currently has not issued a solution to fix it.

Dashboard screen behind steering wheel and middle dashboard mounted screen are not adjusting for brightness during the day. The only things you can read during the day are the large velocity number in the center on the driver side screen and the blue line for route directions on the middle screen.. At night or very dim driving conditions the screens are bright enough to read, but in full sun it is all but viewless. I've read that there have been some recalls (90 vehicles) that were manufactured in summer 2022, but my VIN is not on that list.

The cluster display on my vehicle is dim too non visible in full sunlight , daylight operating conditions . Automatic display functions turned off and manual brightness adjusted full, yet the dim to non existent backlight does not change. I been told this is a problem and FCA engineers are looking at, but at what priority. It seems that more and more of these complaints are showing up. There needs to be a recall to fix.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, another vehicle rear-ended her, causing her to crash into the vehicle in front of her; however, no air bags were deployed. There was an occupant in the front passenger seat during the crash. The contact sustained a fractured arm that required medical attention. The front passenger occupant did not sustain any injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,953.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 15 MPH making a left turn, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with the drive(D) light flashing. The driver shifted the vehicle into park(P) and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to another local dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.

Screens in vehicle have dimmed and are unable to brighten. It’s impossible to see while driving during the day. I have run out of gas on the highway, and almost caused an accident. My vehicle also automatically breaks and sounds an alarm as if I have had a collision, and almost caused another accident from being rear ended. Thankfully, one of the issues has been resolved and the dealership is fixing it (although my VIN number was not included in the recall at this time). I’ve developed a fear of driving on the highway now so be cautious of purchasing until all these issues have been resolved.

Backlighting in dash cluster not working and makes it very difficult to see my fuel gauge, and temperature gauge, cruise control, and other items shown in gauge cluster.

The cluster digital display on the 2022 Jeep Compass appears dim in full sunlight and during the day when there is “minimum backlighting.” The car has been to the dealer multiple times and has been reported to the manufacturer. I’m being told there is no fix at this and the engineers are working on it. I was told I would be notified with an “update” when it becomes available. I’ve experienced this issue for over a year. Not being able to see the instrument panel in the daylight is a safety issue.
