2023 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Complaints

The right side back seat belt became jammed and tighten around child's body. With no release button or no way to untangle the seatbelt, the belt had to be cut to prevent further tightening around child's body and to prevent suffocation.

While merging onto RT684 I went to accelerate and the car was non-responsive to me pushing on the gas. The car continued to not respond to the accellerator and then the "Service 4wD" light came on the dashboard. This was a safety issue because I had no notice that there was an issue until after the issue took place, a car was very close behind me and almost hit me from behind while I had my 2yr old son and newborn in the back seat. This vehicle has had a number of safety related issues: did not respond to the break on 12/24/24, has been in the jeep dealership service center for over 115 days since my lease began May 2023. The most recent incident was on 12/20/2025 where it did not accellerate while merging onto the highway. The was in the shop from 12/20/25 - 12/30/25 upon return the car had very stiff steering and the car felt jumpy on 1/6/26 the "service 4wD" light went on again and has been in the shop from 1/6/26- until present.

Engine shut off while driving on the highway. I was able to pull over onto the emergency lane. Headlights went off (night driving) along with the heated seat and steering wheel, but the radio remained on. After stopping I notice the emergency park break was on. Once I shut the off the emergency brake I was able to resume driving. The dealership was not able to duplicate or find the problem. They hope the update for a current recall problem will fix it.

For the second winter (2 out of 2) this vehicle has entered FORM mode - Fuel Oil Refresh - and fails to operate as a hybrid car until- if last year was the indicator - Spring and warmer weather. Ostensibly due to running in electric mode for too long, FORM is an engine and fuel safety measure. Since this vehicle was under recall 68C until earlier this week and had not been operable in electric mode at all since September, this excuse fails demonstrably. It has been in FORM since the recall was completed. Having a Jeep in winter that is not operable in electric mode in snow and ice when the potential exists that gas mode doesn't function and the 24 "reserve" miles are not available in electric mode, poses a significant risk. Secondarily, in last winter and this, hybrid use is unavailable for months.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact initially received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System). After the parts became available, the contact took the vehicle to the dealer for the recall repair. Upon returning the vehicle, the contact discovered that the battery charge had been reduced to 80% after sitting idle from a full charge. The contact fully recharged the battery the following day; however, the battery was drained to 0% two days after sitting idle. The contact spoke to the dealer, who suggested that the contact leave the battery charger connected to the vehicle until ready to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the dealer's suggestion could lead to future safety failures. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was 7,803.

There has been a recall issued on the vehicles battery/electrical system for over three months and Jeep has yet to correct the issue.

Local Dealers are unable to resolve the recall on timely basis due lack of parts, lack of loaner or rental cars. Weather, sense of urgency. This is a serious safety recal of potential battery fire and suddenly stop while in motion. Need to do something!

I was driving down the interstate with my two babies in the car seats and all of a sudden all of the dash lights came on, and the power steering locked up. I was driving 70 miles per hour and had to pry my wheel as hard as i could to be able to pull over on the side of the interstate. Once I pulled over i turned the car off hoping it would reset whatever happened and the car was completely dead. It would not crank at all. I ended up having to call someone to come get me and my kids off the side of the interstate and tow the car to the dealership. this car has less than 70,000 miles on it and still is not fixed. It has been at the dealership for over 3 weeks with what they are telling me is electrical issues. I do not feel comfortable driving this car anymore as it is a safety hazard and could have gotten me and my children killed.

- Automatic Emergency breaking system unavailable - service required alert -Blind spot unavailable - service required alert - car was sold with these lights coming on. Dealership told us it was just tightening up some wires. They ended up replacing two modules. After 5 trips to the dealership the service fixed it for approximately 3 days before it came back.

Forward collision warning. While attempting to make a left hand turn with a green arrow onto a busy highway, the car suddenly slammed to a stop almost causing a collision. The problem has not been reproduced as it hasn’t been driven again. It is not yet at the dealership. The vehicle has not been inspected. No warning lights prior to the problem.
