2022 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE L Complaints

Retractable seatbelt is no longer working. The vehicle is currently at the dealership for repairs. There is only 32,000 miles on this vehicle. The seatbelt no longer retracts; therefore, if an accident occurred a personal injury would very likely result. Yes, the dealership has confirmed the seatbelt is no longer retracting. There haven't been any warning lights or messages. An extended warranty has been bought through Korner Stone. Korner Stone will not cover the repair/replacement of the unit even though seatbelts and air bags are safety components of the vehicle, and the warranty is supposed to be bumper to bumper. (The clause is written in their fine print of their contract. If the unit fails, they are not responsible.)

There was a previous recall for camera system that was fixed using a OTA over the air update per JEEP. This update introduced new problems It disabled the forward collision detection and disabled paddle shifting and other safety features which should also be issued as a RECALL because the dealer is not reputable to this on their own. The fix that they did requires customer to come in and have more work done at their expense and they pretend they didn't cause it but clearly this is a major problem across their whole line of Cars.

My 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L experienced a sudden, simultaneous failure of multiple electrical, safety, and driver-assistance systems. Without warning, the instrument cluster illuminated a yellow warning light indicating that the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system was disabled and unavailable. Concurrently, the steering wheel paddle shifters completely stopped functioning, and the vehicle randomly reset its primary language setting to Italian reverted its system units to Metric and Celsius. Furthermore, critical user customization options in the Uconnect 5 infotainment system—specifically the auto-folding side mirrors option, automatic door locking preferences, and passenger seat controls—completely disappeared from the settings menus.

There is an issue with my infotainment screen that has been occurring for the past 3 years. There seems to be something wrong with the software. My screen goes completely black a few times a day while driving and then comes back on or it freezes. Automatic updates when the truck does a software update, it never corrects this issue. The Cherokee L was not included on the recall list but there is definitely a problem.

Issue regarding Service 4wd light coming on. This is a known issue and is there is a Technical Service Bulletin but no recall. This is a safety hazard and needs to be addressed as a recall. This is a manufacturer issue. It causes the 4wd system to not work properly and driving in rain snow is a safety hazard.

There is a continual problem with this car. Randomly, about every 1-2 weeks, my entire infotainment center, customer settings, and seat preferences will reset to Italian and the metric system. When this happens, the front collision warning system turns off. The radio screen also begins to flash on and off, where I cannot use the backup camera and audio cuts out. I have had it to my local Jeep dealership about 6 times now, and they are able to reset the system but the problem comes back. I had it there earlier in the week and the technician told me that there is no permanent fix, and that I will be coming back routinely because I am not the only one with this issue.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -Forward collision system light on dash is illuminated, automatic locks do not engage after vehicle is in motion, paddle shifters do not work. All displays switched to Italian & from standard measurements to metric How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -Forward collision sensors appear to not work as well as doors do not automatically lock as they should. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -Yes, my dealership is aware of this issue and referenced service bulletin S2108000249, this did "fix" these issues temporarily, however a week later this issues happened again. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? - No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -No

Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. This is a well known and widespread problem, and there is even a DOT Bulletin on the issue: dot.report Bulletins Because this is dangerous (for settings/gauges/units to no longer be useful while driving), and it occurs randomly, I strongly believe this issue should be a manufacturer recall. My front windshield has been replaced 2 times now due to significant cracks starting at the bottom seal of the windshield. These cracks were NOT due to rock chip, they started in the exact same spot both times creating the exact horseshoe type crack from the bottom and went stair to the top of the windshield. These cracks have continued to develop around the entire seal of the windshield including the bottom , sides and top of the glass. These cracks sever cracking is an extreme safety hazard, leaving very poor visibility. I have also witnessed 2 other jeeps in my small town with identical horseshoe cracking that started in the identical place mine did, both were the same year, make and model jeep. The windshields are horrendously expensive and I can’t afford to replace it again, this leaves me with extremely poor visibility making this very unsafe. Come on jeep recall the windshields, this is unfair and unsafe and this is making you responsible for potential accidents. I see a lot of lawsuits coming your way for negligence in taking responsibility for the rightful recall that needs to happen.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. While driving approximately 40 MPH, the air bag, ABS, parking brake, check engine, seat belt, and collision warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the messages "START/STOP not ready," "ACC Disabled", "Cruise Control”, “Service Air Bags System", "Blind Spot Alert Off", and "Service ESC" were displayed. The vehicle was taken to an auto parts store, where a handheld diagnostic machine retrieved DTC: U0140. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 73,945.
