Assessment of Ongoing Mechanical & Safety Issues – 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer To Whom It May Concern, I am providing a clear, factual assessment of the ongoing issues with my 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, which I purchased for $108,000 and have owned for less than two years. During this time, I have experienced twelve separate mechanical and functional failures, several of which have rendered the vehicle undriveable for prolonged periods. Below is a summary of the major issues that continue to impact the reliability, safety, and usability of this vehicle. 1. Seat / Massage Mechanism Defect (Ongoing for Months) A malfunction in the seat massage system has created a large, hard protrusion in the driver’s seat. This defect has resulted in significant back pain, requiring both urgent care and follow-up medical evaluation. I have now been diagnosed with sciatica, which my physician has indicated is likely related to prolonged pressure and improper spinal support caused by the seat malfunction. Two dealerships have confirmed the issue and ordered the replacement part months ago, yet the part delivery has been repeatedly delayed, most recently to January 6, 2026. This has affected my ability to safely and comfortably operate the vehicle, and has now escalated into a documented medical issue. 2. Suspension Noise During Auto-Leveling The vehicle’s air suspension system produces extremely loud noises during auto-adjustments. This raises concerns regarding the safety and structural integrity of the suspension system. 3. Window Hinge Failure A window hinge has prematurely failed, requiring service intervention. This is not consistent with typical wear for a vehicle less than two years old. 4. Cruise Control Malfunction The cruise control system intermittently ceases functioning while driving. The only way to restore it is to turn the vehicle off and restart it, which presents a safety concern when traveling at highway speeds. This points to a possible electrical or

On October 20, 2025, at approximately 2:00 PM, while driving on the highway to pick up my children from school, the driver-side back cushion (airbag/cushion system) in my seat unexpectedly deployed or inflated with significant force, striking my back. The impact was strong enough to leave a visible mark, which I have documented with photographs. As a result, I experienced immediate back pain and was at serious risk of losing control of the vehicle due to the sudden and forceful nature of the incident. I immediately contacted my doctor’s office following the incident. My physician confirmed that the injury was consistent with trauma caused by the seat mechanism. I then contacted the dealership where I purchased the vehicle. I was instructed to drop off the vehicle and leave the keys in an envelope. On the morning of October 21, 2025, I received a text message from the dealership indicating an initial estimate of $117.65. I called the dealership to request a written report of their findings and to inquire whether there were any recalls or service bulletins related to this issue. I was informed that no recalls or service bulletins existed and that I would be required to pay for further evaluation. The dealership declined to take responsibility for the issue and also stated they could not provide a written report. As of this date, the vehicle remains at the dealership with no resolution, updates, or further communication provided. This is a serious safety concern that requires immediate attention and proper documentation.

At engine idle with vehicle parked or driving in heavy traffic, exhaust fumes are entering the passenger compartment. I am not aware of any apparent exhaust leak. The fumes seem to be entering by way of the fresh air intake. I have confirmed CO readings with 2 different detection devices. If the vehicle is moving the readings have been 3-96 ppm. If the vehicle remains stopped with engine running, readings have been +100 ppm. This is a life safety concern. My local dealer had a service appointment over 1 week out 10/22/25. I asked Stellantis to escalate the case and have a reference number. # 94485584 I have lost the use of my vehicle and have not received a closer service appointment.

AEB system engaged emergency braking for no apparent reason when traveling at >35mph on a busy road with the flow of traffic. My face actually hit the steering wheel and a car traveling behind me barely stopped in time to avoid rear ending me. The AEB system has repeatedly displayed warning lights in the dash previously. For each occurrence, the vehicle was serviced at the dealership and reassurances were provided each time that the underlying issue was remedied with reprogramming and/or replacement of electrical control modules, however the recurrent nature of the issue (and many other issues surrounding the electrical system in my Grand Wagoneer) doesn't instill confidence in the "fix" they're providing. At this point in time, I don't feel safe driving my Grand Wagoneer, as I don't know when the vehicle will involuntarily slam on the brakes in traffic and cause an accident.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 65 MPH on the highway, the vehicle lost motive power and shut off. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer, who diagnosed that the thermostat had failed, causing the engine to overheat. The contact was informed that the valve inside the thermostat had bound, causing improper internal operation of the thermostat. The thermostat was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact was informed that per TSB: 09-006-25, the same style thermostat was installed to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 17,500.

The driver side sunvisor comes loose and dangles causing an unsafe driving condition. Dealership has repaired multiple times but it continues to happen. It is an inherent design flaw that is going to cause accidents and ultimately loss of life.

While driving my 2023 Grand Wagoneer the Serv 4WD light and dash spelled out Service four wheel drive, it lit up the anti collision light, ECS, TCS, and HOLD!. The parking brake also engaged automatically while driving at least 4 times. This is a serious safety concern to allow a vehicle to continue driving with the ability to automatically engage the parking brake while driving. The safety of my entire family was put at risk. I currently have the vehicle sitting at the dealership to be diagnosed and reproduced as the vehicle lost all power after this incident. Another serious safety concern is the total loss of power with no notice. This could easily have been while I was driving and caused a serious accident and possible fatalities.
