There is a component, the ICCU, that is failing in a number of early cars. Who knows about the later ones? The 12v battery drains and the car won’t start. If the use is lucky, a jump start will get it to run enough to get to the dealer. Otherwise, a tow is in order. This can happen while the car is under way as well. Look at the Reddit ev6 forum and the Facebook EV6/EV9 forum. There are many stories about this problem.

I was driving home when I heard a loud pop in the back of the car then warning symbols pop saying the there is a issue with electrical system. Then it told me to pull of the road due to low power. I've been reading around heard about the iccu not charging the 12v battery while driving and lost all function when it dies.

I continually have issues with the car not charging. I have taken it to the dealership and they "update the software" but I continue to have issues where my car only charges 10-15% at a time and continues to give me an alert "charge interrupted" but it does not tell me WHY the charge has been interrupted. I will set it to charge overnight but then wake up ready to go to work and my car only has 20% charge and I can't make my commute. I've had the same problem at public chargers. However, my partner has an electric Ford Mustang and his car has had no problems charging at home. I would say for the first 9 months of ownership this was not a problem with my EV6 it only began in the last 3-4 months but it happens almost every time I plug in.

Just like the Hyundai Ionic 5 issue with power loss, my Kia EV6 which has the exact same underlying system (e-gmp); I heard a loud pop followed by my vehicle immediately informing me to stop driving and pull over. It has since been in hobble or "turtle" mode and will not let me drive it for more than 1 minute before insisting I pull over. It has since been towed to the local Kia dealership.

2022 EV6 Wind. For the first 10 months i had absolutely no issues charging the car at home. The car went in to the dealer in mid august for a number of service bulletins. Since those changes, the car no longer accepts level 2 charging at the 48amp speed that it is advertised at and documented to provide. The dealership is not capable of replicating it, because they only have a 32 amp charger, which is significantly less powerful. It is my understanding that this is a heat issue which makes me nervous about a fire. I can turn the charger down very low, but that defeats the purpose of why I bought this car as faster speed charging was one of its selling points.
