2017 KIA FORTE- Pawtucket, RI
The vehicle went into Tasca Kia for a cam shaft replacement, this did not fix the issue and the vehicle needed an entire engine replacement under power train warranty. Since then, the vehicle has continuously stalled. The vehicle is not indicating a reason for stalling, it is documented in video, and I have continued to inform the dealership where the vehicle is. This vehicle has shut off on me at rates of speed of 60 mph, comes to a complete stop, and is a HUGE safety concern. I have reported it to the dealer every time, I have provided video, and I have left the vehicle with them, they have continued to ask me to pick up the vehicle and return the rental because they cannot recreate the problem and cannot continue to lose money on the rental. There are no prior issues, there were no warning lights or lights remaining on the dash when the stall happens.

2017 KIA NIRO- Athens, GA
The push-button locks (the plastic button that covers the electronic components) on the exterior of the driver's door and passenger's door fell off. The problem was confirmed by the Kia dealership, and attempting to push the buttons back on did not work (the buttons promptly fell back off). There was no warning that the buttons were loose before they fell off. The dealership stated that the only solution would be to replace the entire door handle.

2025 KIA K5- Menan, ID
While driving, the entire control panel shuts down including all interior and exterior lights. It completely resets everything including Bluetooth. It has happened 5 or 6 times since I got the car in October 2024. I’ve reported this to Stones Kia in Idaho Falls, and they were unable to duplicate the issue so they couldn’t do anything. It tends to only happen when I’m driving at night.

2019 KIA FORTE- Richmond, VA
Transmission was getting stuck in gear and slipping intermittently would cause the car to not accelerate over 20mph especially in the cold unless you switched it to the manual mode and manually shifted up two gears ans then back down two gears. If you looked at the tach while it did this is would bounce between 500 and 1500rpm and then would stutter and bounce between 1500 and 2500rpm until you did the manual gear trick. Eventually it started making a strange noise. I have serviced it on time and complained to Kia before about the issue which they stated they could not repeat so there was nothing they could do at that time and now when I took it back to Kia they stated its an internal trans issue and it now needs to be replaced but there was nothing they could do as it was now out of warranty. The car has less the 95k on it. I've had cars that had well over 400k on them in the past and still ran like new. The trans should not be failing already.

2022 KIA K5- Durham, CA
EPB light with multiple other dash lights come on. It affects my breaking, shifting and acceleration. I was attempting to get on the freeway the first time it happened and my car would not accelerate. I had to drive off to the side to prevent getting hit. It happens intermittently at no given time. I just got it back from the dealership and am still having the issue.

2024 KIA TELLURIDE- Cape Coral, FL
I bought my 2024 Kia Telluride new and have been trying to get Kia to update the navigation system maps since I bought it. The maps and driving/turning instructions provided by their navigation systems are currently (and have been) out-of-date causing a significant safety risk for anyone driving Kia vehicles with these an non-updated maps. A prime example which is becoming more and more prevalent is where cities have completed changed major intersections (many adjacent to interstate highways) whereby they reversed the flow of traffic completely opposite of normal traffic flow. Although I have found these changes to be many places along the east coast, 2 local examples for me are the intersections of 1) [XXX] where is crosses [XXX] and 2) [XXX] where it crosses [XXX] Sarasota. Since both of these [XXX] exits in FL now have reversed traffic flows immediately after exiting this major highway (which is counter-intuitive to begin with), Kia's nav system is warning you that you are going in the wrong direction and telling you to turn head-on into oncoming traffic. For 2 years since I've been attempting to get Kia's attention on this matter, their response has consistently been (from their customer service dept, dealer and website which provides the updates) that the updates are currently unavailable and to continue to check back for updates. Please look into this issue and assist in getting Kia to recognize the risk they have created so they can provide a fix for the affected vehicles. Thank You. 2019 KIA NIRO- La Mesa, CA
The contact owns a 2019 Kia Niro. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked. The check engine warning light and the hybrid battery warning light were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the clutch actuator was leaking, and the dual clutch and slave cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but denied assistance in covering the cost of the repair. The contact stated that the engine and dual clutch were replaced two years ago. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V534000 (POWER TRAIN); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
