2020 KIA SORENTO- Albrightsville, PA
Engine was in limp mode after having the KBS software earlier this year installed. Engine is currently at 115,000 miles, oil has been changed consistently. The engine has been consuming the oil and burning it fast, where I need to add oil constantly.

2022 KIA SORENTO PHEV- Woodland, CA
I have gotten the notice Refill Inverter Coolant and Hybrid System Failure and lost acceleration and the all power. The first time this happened was in Dec 2024 with about 60,000 miles on the car. Dealer flushed system and it worked fine until April 2025 at about 71000 miles Hybrid system failure alert again, barely able to accelerate from stop light, made to a parking space just as I lost power steering. After about 2 hours to cool off car started and could be driven home. Got Refill inverter coolant alert.

2025 KIA EV9- Hermosa Beach, CA
Took my 4-month old Kia EV9 to a tire shop b/c I heard a rattling on the right side at low speed. Turns out both of the locking lug nuts had popped out of the front and rear hubs on the right side. Seems like someone at the port install facility in West Point Georgia didn't use the correct tools or torque settings. Turns out this is a known issue among a few customers per this Reddit thread: [XXX] I notified Kia CS. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2017 KIA SOUL- Draper, UT
- Engine failure/seizure with rod bearing failure! Yes, vehicle is available for inspection upon request. - Myself and my wife were driving through a busy intersection light when the engine failed and went into limp mode (Engine Control System) causing an abrupt stop in the middle of the intersection which forced multiple cars to have to slow down and break to not hit us. My wife is pregnant and a recent brain cancer survivor and this put all of our lives at risk! - Yes the problem has been confirmed by the Kia dealer with a full diagnostic inspection and confirmed reports of engine rod bearing failure. This is a known defect with this Kia engine. The car has never had any issues before and has always had regular maintenance and all software/recall updates applied in a timely manner! The car has never had any oil leaks, or leaks or issues of any kind until this day when the engine suddenly failed! All reports for maintenance history and recall updates are available. Many report this same issue online at around 100k mile range. My 2017 Kia Soul is at 108k miles. Metal shavings were found in the oil when the diagnostics were performed to further confirm this known reported engine defect. The oil was low but had never been low before and the oil or check engine light never have come on previously or leading up to this engine failure. - The vehicle and/or engine has been inspected by Kia the manufacturer/dealer. The dealer confirmed this is due to the known engine defect where a recall software update was issued and applied and is widely reported online by other owners. Police, and insurance have not inspected it because there was no accident and they do not cover engine failure/seizure. - As stated there were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms such as oil or check engine light ever in the history of the car or leading up to this failure. Just before the engine failed it began to make a slight knocking sound from the engine as widely known with this defect.

2023 KIA K5- Orangeburg , SC
On Friday 5/16/25 my check engine light was on when I went to leave for work and when I began driving I felt excessive air flow coming from my back seat. I stopped and noticed that the back seat had popped up. I then noticed my gas gauge was showing empty, but my digital reading was correct.. The car was sluggish and my son's father told me that the gas tank was swollen and to stop driving it. I called Kia on Saturday morning and was told I could bring it in today at 9am. I left the car and was given a loaner, but I do not feel it would be safe to ever drive that car again. They immediately knew what the problem was and said it was a recall, but I was never notified about it. It was extremely scary driving it to Kia this morning because they are over 50 miles away from where I live.

2013 KIA OPTIMA- Hiawassee, GA
The paint on my car is flaking off. We had a very bad storm and after it passed there was lots of paint gone from my car. I filed a claim with state farm and was denied as they state Kia was responsible of the paint because it's a know fact that the snow white pearl paint us defective and kua knows this. I file with Kia care and they say the paint warranty is gone. But they know that the paint is defective and they need to repaint my car. This issue started in 2011 through 2020. My car is a 2013 Kia optima and Kia is responsible for fixing this issue.

2025 KIA SORENTO- Agawam, MA
The contact owns a 2025 Kia Sorento. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 50 MPH, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. Due to the failure, the contact's husband coasted the vehicle off to the shoulder of the highway. The vehicle was restarted; however, the failure persisted. The contact called the dealer and made an appointment to have the vehicle serviced. The contact drove the vehicle without failure. The dealer performed a diagnostic test, but no fault was found with vehicle. The contact was instructed to pick up the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was 213.

2017 KIA SORENTO- Avondale , AZ
I am unsure what component system failed or malfunctioned. The car is in the toe place. It's a total loss burned from front to back my safety was put at risk by no indication of any lights coming on my dashboard. By the time I stopped the whole front into my car was on fire. It burned from from 2 back within 8 minutes. It has not been inspected by insurance. The police were there when the fire was put out along with the fire department. There were no warning lights or lamps of any indication of a problem. I was driving down the road and I seemed small but I had no lights on my dashboard. Indicating anything was wrong? So I drove as soon as I started to slow down at the stoplight. Flames started coming out of the driver's side of the hook. But I turned the corner and stopped the car and the whole front end.By the time I stopped was on fire.I contacted the fire department and within 8 minutes. The car was a total loss
