The the VVI oil line failed in April of 2024. Contacted Lexus corporate via phone and problem was never resolved. Fast forward to November 2024 and after paying to have VVI oil line replaced the motor failed on the highway. Mechanic said complete engine failure. THIS CAR WAS A CERTIFIED USED LEXUS AND THEY FAILED TO REPLACE THE VVI DURING THE CERTIFICATION PROCESS! Prior to buying this used car from an individual I called Hendricks Lexus 6935 W Frontage Rd, Merriam, KS 66203 and spoke to service advisor Willie who said if you have any problems with that vehicle bring it in and Lexus IS making good on the hybrid vehicles. After purchase I went to Hendricks 9300 NW Prairie View Rd, Kansas City, MO 64153 multiple times for parts and service history. I spoke to parts manager, service manager and several others and NOT ONE PERSON INFORMED ME OF THE PROBLEM AND IMMEDIATE NEED FOR CONCERN! HOW DID THIS CAR GET CERTIFIED PRIOR TO THE PREVIOS OWNER BUYING THE VEHICLE “CERTIFIED”? I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT IT HAD BEEN COMPLETELY CERTIFIED AND GIVEN THE 6 year additional warranty to the owner I purchased it from, although they were still considerably below the miles guaranteed with the certification. How did Lexus allow this vehicle to pass the certification without replacing a $100 part that could result in catastrophic failure. THIS CAR WAS SOLD AT A PREMIUM BECAUSE OF THE CERTIFICATION, YET A PART THAT HAD BEEN RECONFIGURED AND IDENTIFIED AS CONTRIBUTING TO A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE AS EARLY AS 2012 WAS LEFT ON THE VEHICLE!

On [XXX], I tried to move my vehicle from my driveway into the garage. The car would not start, and locked me inside the car. None of the electronics and electrically-operated functions worked -- the door locks, window controls, hatch release and lights were all dead. And unfortunately I did not have my phone with me so I could not call anyone for help. Even the Lexus Safety Connect system (SOS) did not work. I eventually got my wife's attention by honking and she came out and brought my phone (fortunately the horn still worked). She was unable to find the slot to insert the mechanical key (that's stored in the key fob) so we couldn't use that. I was finally able to call Lexus Roadside Assistance from my Apple Watch. The Lexus representative instructed me to pull on the inside door release lever two times and that would open the door. It didn't work. So I tried it on the front passenger door and it opened. But as soon as I got out of the car and the door closed, the car locked again. Thus I was unable to get back inside to see if I could jumpstart it or charge the battery. I did find the keyslot for the mechanical key and it did not work. In total, I was locked in the car for nearly 45 minutes. In an emergency, that could have been fatal. The Lexus dealer said they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle other than it needing to be charged. They tested the mechanical key and the inside door handle and said both worked. They could not explain why it didn't work for me other than telling me I need to drive the car more often to keep the 12V battery charged. There's nothing in the owner's manual saying that the vehicle needs to be driven frequently else this problem could arise. My concern is this happening to others where the electrical system is compromised in an accident or the car being submerged in water. If the occupants are locked inside, the result could be devastating. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am [XXX] old, have been driving since I was 16, and until this incident, have never been in an accident. On [XXX], I was parallel parking in my friend's quiet suburban neighborhood, as we do yoga together every Sunday morning. I reversed into the space. Then I wanted to pull forward slightly to straighten out my vehicle. As I shifted into drive, I recall hearing the engine rev. My foot was on the brake but the car lurched forward at about 25 mph and rammed into the car parked in front of me, crunching his rear tail light and bumper and damaging the front of the passenger side of my vehicle. As soon as my car hit the car in front of me, it stopped. My foot was on the brake during the entire incident. Lexus is supposed to finish their 45 day investigation soon. But they did not seem concerned that I am still driving this vehicle. I am worried it could happen again and this time could be far worse. When turning the truck left, there is a clicking sound that sounds like it’s coming from the axel. Contacted Lexus and it is a known issue. They advised it is not a safety concern but a mold problem. Getting axel replaced.

The contact owned a 2016 Lexus ES. The contact stated while at a stop sign, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the brakes failed to engage and the vehicle unintentionally accelerated which caused the front driver's side of the vehicle to crash into another vehicle. There was severe cosmetic damage however, no injuries was sustained. The air bags was deployed. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the vehicle was totaled. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 131,000.

I was driving my Lexus ct200h and the traction control, brake light, and two other lights came on the dash. I took it in to Toyota and they indicated that this was a common problem with both Prius models and ct200h models. The car comes with proactive driver assist. The system when activated will cause the car to unexpectedly turn the wheel and lunge usually left if the system suspects you are going off of track. It works even on unmarked 2 lane country roads. Very disconcerting and dangerous. My wife was then subsequently in a serious accident on a slippery and snowy night that totaled the car. We are not convinced that the proactive driver assist system was the cause of the accident but can't help but think it may have been a contributing factor to the accident. Her car swerved into the oncoming lane on a unmarked (snow covered) highway.

I have a Nuna Rava carseat that has malfunctioning harness straps. The straps can be pulled loose even after proper buckling and tightening. My child is at risk of injury, bodily harm, or death in the event of a car accident due to the harness straps failing to stay tight. The car seat has not been inspected.

When driving at highway speeds (65mph-75mph) the steering rack in Lexus gs350 (4th generation models) will seem “sticky” on “swooping turns”. A slight jerk is the only way to get out of this sticky feeling. The steering racks have been a major issue with these cars and seem fairly frequent to malfunction. I personally think, considering safety standpoint, the steering rack should be recalled. This issue is very prevalent in many Lexus/toyota models with electronic steering racks (not just the gs350 model) This is my 3rd GS350 (2nd one with this same issue all 4th gen’s)
