As i was driving on the interstate, i heard a gunshot-like explosion and the sunroof glass broke. Glass shards fell into the car. I had to slow down to 30 mph and exit the interstate. There was no obvious road debris or cars around me at the time of the incident. I drove the car to the dealership where it is for repair

Vehicle subframe corrosion (manufacturer extended warranty offered). Rear brake lines corroded/leaking. Vehicle leaks fuel; steel fuel line corroded. Vehicle has about 105k miles. Minor fire started when yard maintenance came in contact with fuel saturated ground where vehicle had been parked/moved out of the way just prior. With rear suspension subframe springs corroded, vehicle bottom can contact road surface while driving, scraping steel exhaust with fuel present. EXTREMELY dangerous. Local Sunbury Ohio Mercedes dealership inspected then offered subframe replacement. Stated it was leaking fuel and not hydraulic fluid we originally thought. Brake, suspension and fuel line corrosion repairs were quoted in excess of $4,000, which was a "great deal" according to them "because the subframe would already be removed and would make it much easier."

The a/c unit failed and is available for inspection upon request. Being in an over-heated car can cause dehydration, heat exhaustion and/or heat stroke. I was nauseous and dizzy while driving, putting myself and my passengers at risk. Upon taking my car to a independent service dealer, it was revealed that their is a leak and the evaporator must be replaced. It has not been inspected by a Mercedes dealer yet. No warning messages.

PRIORITY COMPLAINT: MANUFACTURER RECALL OBSTRUCTION & COERCIVE SAFETY WAIVER INDUCEMENT. My vehicle is actively subject to NHTSA Campaign 26V073 for a severe high-voltage battery defect causing an immediate fire hazard while parked or operating. Because the manufacturer has no immediate remedy available, I filed an administrative buyback request due to the extreme danger of driving the car. Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) has formally blocked my safety relief by deceptively citing irrelevant Florida Lemon Laws, despite the vehicle being legally purchased in Maryland and registered/operated continuously in Virginia. Furthermore, MBUSA is actively attempting to obstruct the safety intent of this NHTSA recall by trying to bribe me with a $5,500 cash payment in exchange for signing a mandatory "Waiver of Rights" liability release. This release legally bars me from pursuing future recall remedies or lawsuits if the battery catches fire. MBUSA has explicitly stated in writing that if I refuse to sign this total liability waiver, they will offer zero further assistance, effectively forcing me to continue operating a known, catastrophic fire hazard on public roads. I request that NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) launch an immediate inquiry into MBUSA for utilizing deceptive out-of-state legal tactics and coercive monetary waivers to suppress safety claims and minimize their financial exposure to Campaign 26V073.

While traveling at highway speeds, the digital instrument cluster suffered a sudden, complete power loss and went entirely black for approximately 5 seconds before rebooting. Component failed: Digital instrument cluster / dashboard display. It is available for inspection. Safety risk: Complete loss of critical data (speedometer, vehicle status) at high speed. It caused immediate driver confusion over whether the vehicle had stalled or lost propulsion, creating an acute risk of a high-speed collision in traffic. Reproduced by dealer: [UNKNOWN] Inspected by others: [NO] Prior symptoms: UNKNOWN. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to the sudden blackout.

The tail lamps of my car do not function appropriately - the right tail lamp is completely dead most of the time and the left tail lamp constantly dims and flickers. Mercedes previously issued a recall campaign (no. 2014050001) because "DAG determined that oxidation on the ground pin connector for the rear tail lamps of subject vehicles can result in a dimming of the tail lights or loss of tail lamp functions. . . . [t]he loss of a rear tail lamp reduces the rearward visibility of subject vehicles . . . and may increase the likelihood of a rear end crash." The recall has been performed on my car, but the issues and danger continue to persist. I visually inspected the pin connectors of the tail lamps, confirmed that they still suffer from oxidization (and that they may have slightly burned due to the oxidization), causing the same continuing issues that were at the heart of the prior recall campaign. I reached out to Mercedes' corporate customer service, explained to them in writing that the same issues continue to exist (oxidization of the pin connectors which continue to cause tail lamp malfunction), showed them photos of clear oxidization of the pin connectors, and pleaded with them regarding the continued danger that is caused by the malfunctioning tail lamps. Despite the continuing clear defects and obvious dangerous conditions, Mercedes has refused to provide any assistance to repair the tail lamps. This is a serious design defect, and a quick google search confirms that it continues to be a widespread problem. At minimum, Mercedes should be pressed by the NHTSA to repair my tail lamps, free of cost. However, given that it appears that it continues to be a widespread problem that could potentially affect thousands of cars that continue to be road worthy, the NHTSA should investigate the extent to which Mercedes should be pressed to issue a second wider recall, because the first recall has not resolved the defects and dangerous conditions.

In most circumstances the adaptive cruise control (ADC) works well. There is one case where it does not, however. When ADC is active and the vehicle immediately in front shows, perhaps to make a turn, the ADC-equipped vehicle slows appropriately. The problem: Once the front vehicle is *well clear* of the driving lane, often operating 90 degrees to the marked lane on a perpendicular roadway, the ADC-equipped vehicle delays in sensing this and dos not resume the set speed. The effect is for traffic behind the ADC-equipped vehicle to become exceedingly annoyed and a chain-reaction of braking results. Drivers operating behind the Mercedes-Benz have a reasonable expectation that when the traffic in front of the ADC-equipped vehicle is clear the latter will accelerate. This expectation is not met in practice -- ever. The result is near-miss rear end collisions This exact same issues was also observed on a 2025 Mercedes GLE450.
