The warning light starts flashing to alert me it is not active, this happened periodically but the dealer was unable to see it happen. Saw it happening so I went to take it to the dealer but didn’t notice the car in front of me due to the flashing light taking my attention and hit the car in front of me.

At 15,000 miles the car began to exhibit a loud “knocking” and / or “clunking” sounds upon turning the steering wheel. Three dealerships later I’ve learned it is called a “strut bearing”, and that it’s covered under a “special coverage”. Which special coverage means that this is a widely known issue after the cars have be sold. This should be a total recall. They dealer a fixing it. Had to order parts. Of course no loaner car. Won’t be using the selling dealer any longer.

Persistent issue where the vehicle will loose all power to brakes, engine, instrument cluster and infotainment. This issue has almost caused 2 crashes out of the 3 occasions in which it has occurred. When the issue happens all power is lost as if the car were rolling in neutral while off, no indication of what is wrong or anything of the sort. It happened on the highway going about 65 mph, was able to steer (without power steering support) into the emergency lane as the car dramatically dropped speed. The brakes were also not being supported by the booster so it was extremely difficult to push the pedal, thankfully it was on a bit of an uphill. Put the car manually into park after it stopped, and by itself the car restarted, although some of the cluster components and infotainment components were very slow to restart. The next time this happened was in slow traffic, once again the car shut off with no warning of any kind. Once I managed to get the brake pedal pushed far enough for the brakes to engage, I managed to stop the car within a foot or so of the person in front of me. Once again, I put the car in park and it was able to restart on its own. Both times it has been to the dealer, Don Herring of Plano, and as helpful as the service advisor is, there is still no solution in sight as they keep changing electrical components left and right. I am worried about the car becoming a rolling ball of metal that I cannot stop one day. I hope Mitsubishi figures this problem out, otherwise its a fatality waiting to happen.

The 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 has been having long issues with swaying when going over 60 mph. I kept bringing it back to the Mitsubishi dealership and complaining but they kept saying they could not replicate the problem. One day on the highway, a few years after constantly complaining the right front tire made a sound and the whole car swayed to the left almost flipping over. Luckily I maneuvered off the highway into a grassy area on the side of the shoulder. Several cars avoided colliding with me. Even after the almost fatal incident and being towed, the dealership claimed the issue could not be replicated. Now out of nowhere, for a paint issue while the car was in the shop they determined they found the issue and it has to do with the sway bar and rear axle, and want to charge me $3,700.00

    - Canton , OH

Back up camera view is not clear, unreliable sixty percent of the time. Not able to see pedestrians or objects clearly or the distance from the vehicle. Twenty percent of the times it is clouded so dark it useless. Twenty percent of the time it is clear. Safety of others is at risk. Problem was reported to dealer twice at the location I purchased the vehicle. They ruled it off. The problem was reported to the manufacturer with no return call or response. The problem was reported to a different dealer which informed me that the manufacturer is not doing any repairs. The vehicle is available for inspection anytime. I have cleaned the camera lens and monitor screen with no good results. This is the second vehicle of this style from the same manufacturer I have owned. The first vehicle had no issues and both vehicles were shown to the dealer service department as well as sales crew.

The shifter assembly was replaced by the manufacturer and I do not know if the item is available for inspection as the dealership handled the replacement. Mine and my daughters safety was put in danger on April 10, 2024 when I was turning into a parking space at my doctors office and went to put the car into park the car accelerated on its on over an embankment and into a busy 5 lane highway. When trying to stop the brakes failed several times and the only thing I could do to stop it was push the on off button to kill power to the engine. Upon stopping we looked at the car and saw quite a bit of damage to the car after going over the embankment and through several bushes and small trees. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer and manufacturer. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership at which I bought the vehicle and by my insurance company. The week before the incident when trying to change shifts out of park into drive the car failed to shift and I had to turn the car off using the off on button to stop the power to the car and turn back on to get the car to shift out of park.
