MITSUBISHI Complaints

The contact owns a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, for unknown reasons, he veered off the road, traveled over a hill, and crashed into a dirt pile. The steering wheel air bag failed to deploy. The contact had previously unplugged, the passenger seat air bag. The air bag and check engine warning lights were illuminated. After the crash, the curtain and driver's seat air bag were deployed. The contact noticed the passenger's side rear tire was low and had a slash in the side wall. The contact sustained whiplash and pain, and medical attention was provided. The vehicle was towed to his residence. There was no reported fire or police report. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided.  The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated; however, the contact stated that the warning light was due to a failed O2 sensor. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 105,979.

I was driving with shade closed and AC on for around 4hours since 6am from Alexandria - Lousiana. When I arrive in Dallas - TX I decided to open the shade from my sunroof glass and less than 1 minute as I open i heard and noise like a small explosion and saw a hole in my sunroof glass. The glass start to crack. Same moment I closed my shade and reduce my speed. I was 6 minutes from my Hotel. When I stop the car I saw that sunroof glass was in direction from inside to outside the car. Looks clearly that the explosion happened from inside to outside the car. I called to Mitsubishi Road Service and they sent a tow truck to send my car to Don Herring Dealer. After 3 days Mitsubishi called me and told by according pictures it was a rock that hit my glass and broken and they dont have nothing to do. Don Herring Dealer in Texas and Sport Mitsubishi in Orlando both of them assume that dont have any real evidence that was a rock because the glass exploded direction it was to up - showing that happened from inside to outside. I went to Safelite Glass company too and they told the same. As it is tempered glass must be broken in small pieces completely or total fallen inside the car. This looks like when I open the shade and because inside the car was too cold and outside was too hot had some thermical shock and sunroof glass not hold this situation.

The key fobs aren't working ,vehicles are locking children inside and users are having to use manual key inside key fob to open..alot of people are not aware of key..this is a huge saftey issue with summer coming..we were in school drop off with 2 special ed kiddos and the car locked and would not unlock and when you go to the forum many many parents having kids locked inside cars... this started happening after the last computer update on my vehicle..dealer is attempting to fix friday but definitely a issue on a vehicle only 8 months old.

After this car sits for at least 10 minutes, upon first turn of the steering wheel, a “popping” is felt in the steering wheel, and a “clunk” noise is heard while turning the steering wheel to either the left or the right. A strut issue was advised for the 2022 outlander as a tech bulletin. However nothing as of yet for model year 2023.

Stalls out when driving Vehicle dealership has not been any help with getting issues fixed despite having purchased vehicle within past 6 months, and having engine issues since purchase. Charged for extra warranties not honored

I had a recall on this vehicle for the CVT software update which i got fixed by mitsubishi at the dealership but now its doing the same thing and seems worse, everytime I push on the gas it does not excelerate and usually gets stuck at 30-45MPH no matter how much i press on the gas, and the rpms get stuck at 3-4 thousand rpms which causes a safety threat when we are driving. I did some research and found out that this a well known issue with mitsubishi and its outlander sports vehicles I’m not sure what to do from here.

This is the second time the bushings on the rear motor (i believe they said inverter motor) have needed to be replaced. Currently the motor is being held by two of the three bushing. I was told by Mitsubishi that this is a common issue. If it's a common issue and if all three bushings failed, the rear motor would be displaced and could cause driver to have accident while driving the vehicle. My brakes are better made then these bushings, I have only had to replace my brakes once.

The contact owns a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact stated while driving at an unknown speed, the Service Engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local AutoZone where it was diagnosed and determined that the catalytic convertor needed to be replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

As I was parking the parking sensors didn’t engage to say I was too close to another vehicle causing me to side swipe the other vehicle! I thought it was just me but still 4 days later anytime I park the sensors don’t alert me as being too close! The forward and reverse emergency brake system is not engaging as it used to do!
