i was driving my car and stopped at a stop sign and my car shut down could not get it to turn back on at all had to get it towed to my apt then get it towed to a mechanic he said it was the starter and said it will continue to turn off untill the throttle body and map sensor are fixed also said 8f i turn my ac on it will turn off because something about the valve broke I'm not sure what that meant but i only had the car not even 3 months I spoke to the car lot who sold it to me and he told me i would have to pay for it and i don't have that kind of money i spent $3500 for the purchase of the car not so it can brake down 2 months later

Brake lights stay on when the car is in drive. Cruise control will not work. There are other intermittent electrical issues that are not safety related. With the brake lights always on, other drivers don't know when I'm stopping. The problem is ongoing and has been confirmed by an independent mechanic. there were no warning lights or messages. the problem started several years ago before I owned the car.

The contact's son owns a 2006 Pontiac G6. The contact stated while at a complete stop, the steering wheel locked inadvertently. The contact's son turned off the vehicle and after restarting the vehicle, the steering wheel regained power steering functionality. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring. There was a warning light displaying the vehicle with a lock across illuminated. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 188,000.

Radio Stopped working won’t power on, BRAKE, TC, ABS & CHECK ENGINE light stay on for some reason!

The contact owns a 2008 Pontiac G5. The contact stated while driving the vehicle into the garage, there was an abnormal gasoline fumes odor. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and diagnosed with rusted fuel lines from underneath the engine to the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was currently being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure; however, no assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.

The contact owns a 2009 Pontiac G6. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the steering became inoperable. The contact restarted the vehicle, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed him that the torque sensor was faulty. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number 14V153000 (Steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.

Power steering goes off while driving. Previous recall for this reason while checking my Vin it states that there are no unrepaired recalls however either mine was never actually fixed or it has not been repaired properly.

The power steering angle sensor malfunctioned/stopped working properly at approx. 197,000 miles. The part was taken out and replaced by a local GM dealership. With the sensor malfunctioning, we experienced intermittent loss of power steering as well as shaking in the steering column which made it suddenly VERY difficult to steer. We lost power steering mid-drive many times and could have been killed because of this issue. The vehicle would be functioning completely normally and all of a sudden lose power steering mid-turn or while backing up and become nearly impossible to control. The problem was corrected out of pocket from us by a GM dealership service center. Unknown if it has been inspected. The dash light "ESC" would come on AS the power steering disengaged, but not until then. The dash display would also show "power steering" after we lost the power steering, but not before as a warning or anything.

The contact owns a 2007 Pontiac G6. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle was difficult to start. Additionally, there was an abnormal fuel odor after driving and parking the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the failure was undetermined; however, the mechanic was aware of the fuel odor. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 59,000.

The contact owns a 2006 Pontiac G6. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the power steering warning light illuminated and the vehicle lost power steering functionality. The contact pulled over to side of the road, turned off and then restarted the vehicle and the power steering functionality returned. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacture had been notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 174,000
