2019 RAM 1500 Complaints

To whom it may concern, I am making a safety complaint on a component that failed while operating the vehicle. My vehicle is a 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn DT. The component that failed and almost cost me to crash my truck while in reverse and parking is called The Park Sense and The Rear Parking Assist . I started to have this problem back in the Summer around August 2024. I have brought the vehicle in to my dealer ( CHRYSLER, JEEP, DODGE OF PARAMUS N. J.) several times already, the first time they replaced the Park Sense Sensor Module and reset the computer. No sooner then I got home from the dealership and was reversing in my driveway the error messages came on and the truck did not sense the garage door and continued to back up thankfully I was able to brake hard and stop 6 inches from the door. Not only did the Park Sense warning come on but also The Rear Brake Assist did not stop the vehicle like it has in the past. I brought the vehicle back to the same dealership and they worked on it for about 6 hours gave it back to me and said they rerouted the wiring harness for the park sense module and it was working fine. As I get into my truck to leave the error messages came on the dashboard so I walked inside and showed the service manager and the tech that just finished working on my truck. They said to bring it back, they had no regards for my safety or the safety of others letting me leave the dealership with the truck acting up cause from time to time the brakes would suddenly come on causing the vehicle to stop abruptly. Nevertheless I strongly believe that there is a safety issue with the truck's Park sense sensor and Rear Brake Assist too. I do not know what to do can someone please help me? Thank you.

Remote starting on its own, radio uncontrollable and usb malfunctions, stabilitrack failure alert and no cruise control possible after that warning. Backup camera doesn’t work sometimes and the screen stays black.

When adding fuel the fuel nozzle constantly shut off making fueling the vehicle difficult. When fueling the nozzle has to be held almost to the top of the fuel neck to allow fuel in slowly. By having to fuel the truck like this causes the fuel nozzle to not shut off when the tank is full and fuel leaks all over the ground.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced the failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Air suspension failure on front drivers side 2019 Ram Rebel. When it was below freezing outside, a warning message flashed across the screen saying service air suspension immediately. Went home and got up later to drive again and the warning message was gone, never to be seen again. Fast forward and it was extremely hot out. Noticed the truck was leaning to one side. Jumped in, started it, and the height recentered. Got out and could hear an active air leak. Drove for a while and would always raise and lower as normal. Issue seemed to go away. Finally, it came back. When trying to change the heights, a message flashed that said “Air suspension system overheating. Ride height safe to maintain.” Sent to dealership. Took 2 days to find issue. Mopar gave oddly specific instructions to determine if that was the issue. Air suspension replacement cost $2500 and not covered under any warranty. Took almost 2 months to get the part. National shortage of the part. Was told driving to vehicle was a safety concern because if the motor in the suspension failed, it could cause the vehicle to rapidly fall, causing loss of control and airbag deployment. Ram refused to call back when trying to get answers about what was going on. Dealer contacted other dealerships and parts places across the country to no avail. When the part came unexpectedly and I picked up the vehicle, I was informed that another 2019 Ram Rebel was there for rear air suspension failure with the same issue of inability to locate a part.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that after rainfall, the contact became aware that water was leaking into the interior of the vehicle through the rear sliding window. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was inspected. The dealer informed the contact that the rear sliding window molding was cracked, causing the window to detach from the molding, which caused water to leak into the interior of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to TSB Number: 23-016-21. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated when starting the vehicle, the instrument cluster was not visible. The contact stated that the failure was almost constant. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V556000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

- BRAKE warning light is flashing - PARK BRAKE light is lit Dealer says "software update" is not available and has no time frame on remedy.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the sun visor detached. The contact stated that the driver's side sun visor detached and obstructed his vision while driving. The contact stated that the sun visor failed to reattach to the brackets, and the sun visor continued to detach. In addition, the contact stated that the sun visor on the passenger's side was also detached. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with sun visor bracket failure. The contact was informed that both sets of sun visor brackets needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

I have a 2019 Ram Laramie and one of the power side view mirrors no longer works as it should because the plastic gear or the motor is broken. When you google the problem it seems to be a very common problem among RAM truck owners is typically occurs because the plastic (instead of metal) gears fail. This issue is a health and safety concern for the driver of these trucks with a broken mirror, other drivers on the road, and pedestrians. When the plastic gear breaks the mirrors so not stay in place as they should so when you go to look in the mirror the view/angle might be off (i.e. the mirror won't show the view that you set it to show because the mirror moves around due to the broken gear). There should be a recall on plastic gears to replace them with a metal gears.
