Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2014 Ram 2500 trucks and 2013-2014 Ram 3500 trucks

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014 Ram 2500 trucks and 2013-2014 Ram 3500 trucks and cab chassis manufactured October 9, 2012, to July 29, 2014. The affected vehicles may have inadequate welds securing the front track bar frame brackets, which may result in the bracket components separating from the frame.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 149,080 units affected.

Description:: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014 Ram 2500 trucks and 2013-2014 Ram 3500 trucks and cab chassis manufactured October 9, 2012, to July 29, 2014. The affected vehicles may have inadequate welds securing the front track bar frame brackets, which may result in the bracket components separating from the frame.
Consequeces:: If the bracket components separate from the frame, the vehicle may be more difficult to steer and control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and install a reinforcement bracket over the front track bar bracket. This recall began on February 24, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R46.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the instrument panel failed to display pertinent information. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact believed that the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V486000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 189,000.;
2014 RAM 3500 Complaints
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while the contact's husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver's side rear outer tire detached. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the road. The contact's husband inspected the vehicle and noticed that only one stud was attached to the wheel, and the wheel was tilted sideways. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to the independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the driver's and passenger's side rear outer tire studs had detached. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that the passenger's side rear outer tire studs had detached again. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that the rear axle, rims, and rear tire hubs were also damaged. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The contact stated that the failures occurred while hauling horses. The contact referenced an unknown recall with a similar failure description, stating that the vehicle was taken to the dealer three years ago for the recall repair, but the vehicle was only inspected and no repairs were completed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for inspection. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.;
