Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Dodge Challenger

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300, Dodge Durango, and 2012-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The affected vehicles have electro-hydraulic power steering (EHPS) and are equipped with a 5.7L or a 3.6L engine and a 160, 180 or 220 amp alternator. In the affected vehicles, the alternator may suddenly fail.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 442,214 units affected.

Description:: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300, Dodge Durango, and 2012-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The affected vehicles have electro-hydraulic power steering (EHPS) and are equipped with a 5.7L or a 3.6L engine and a 160, 180 or 220 amp alternator. In the affected vehicles, the alternator may suddenly fail.
Consequeces:: If the alternator fails, the vehicle may stall without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. There is also the possibility that the alternator may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.
Corrective action:: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the alternator and depending on the part number, will replace the alternator, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began February 12, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T36.

Dealer Gladiator Auto Sales LLC, 7040 NW 77th Ter #1, Medley FL 33166 sold me this vehicle on [XXX] stating 98,854 miles as ACTUAL MILEAGE on contract and FL Form 82042. Florida title record shows 170,520 miles on 07/27/2019 and current brand NOT ACTUAL MILEAGE. Odometer rolled back 71,666 miles. This is federal odometer fraud. 2014 DODGE CHALLENGER Complaints
Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) I have two children and the vehicle has left me stranded about a dozen times because it will not even start. Upon research, this faulty part can also cause the vehicle to just stall at highway speeds. I have taken it to a 3rd-party mechanic, a Dodge dealership, contacted my 3rd-party warranty company, and called Chrysler Customer Care. Nobody can source the part needed because it is no longer manufactured. Stellantis' recommendation was to trade it in and pawn it off on someone else. It has popped about 10-15 CEL's while just driving down the road. Nobody can source the part and rebuilders will not touch it. No remediation or offer to make this right by Stellantis.;
2014 DODGE CHARGER Complaints
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle started beeping with several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the steering wheel locked up. The contact stated that the windshield wipers activated, and the brakes locked up. The vehicle had experienced the failure in 2020, and the dealer replaced the alternator, which temporarily resolved the failure; however, the symptoms reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to a dealer where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the failure was not caused by the alternator. The technician informed the contact that there were other underlying issues with the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 103,995.;
2014 DODGE DURANGO Complaints
Family of 5 traveled back from out of state. Pushed and drove straight through the last 3 hours. When got home and got out of vehicle everyone immediately started feeling ill. 2 kids passed out and we called 911. Fire department detected a carbon monoxide leak in the vehicle. All 5 family members were poisoned and taken by Ambulance to the nearest hospital. ER doctors told us we were lucky to be alive. There were no warning lamps or messages. The 2 of the kids were tired and had headaches but we didn't think much about it. We've been told it's a few different things and are getting the run around from our dealership that we purchased the vehicle from. They've also told us they don't have any way to test it but demanded we go pick it up after they replaced a manifold bolt. My husband got about halfway home and the censor that we'd bought for our vehicle started going off, so back to the shop it went and now they're saying there is a clamp that needs replaced as well. We just want it to be made right. We also don't want this happening to anyone else. I don't think people even know this is a possibility. Is there anything you can do to help?;
2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Complaints
While maneuvering in a parking garage and switching between reverse and forward, the engine suddenly and unprompted revved excessively, sounding as though the accelerator pedal was floored. The vehicle forcefully lunged forward against braking pressure into a cement wall, causing front-end damage to the vehicle. Cruise control was completely disabled and no check engine light or warning indicators illuminated on the dashboard. At no time did I feel like I had control over the car. I sustained some contusions. No one was in the vicinity at the time; however, other cars and/or people could have been struck. The vehicle has yet to be examined by anyone although I am in the process of arranging for an autobody repair shop. Prior to this, the car was in its usual state of health without any issues.;
