Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Edge, Transit Connect and Lincoln MKX and 2020 Escape and Lincoln Corsair vehicles. The start/stop accumulator endcap may have missing or loose bolts.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 97 units affected.

Description:: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Edge, Transit Connect and Lincoln MKX and 2020 Escape and Lincoln Corsair vehicles. The start/stop accumulator endcap may have missing or loose bolts.
Consequeces:: Missing or loose bolts on the start stop accumulator endcap could result in a transmission fluid leak and may progress to a loss of transmission function. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.
Corrective action:: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the start/stop accumulator, free of charge. The recall began September 23, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S49.

2020 FORD EDGE Complaints
My 2020 Ford Edge Titanium was shuddering between 10 - 40 mph. I took my car to a Ford dealership to diagnose the problem. They said it's the torque converter and they needed to replace the transmission. It would be a rebuild/repair at a cost of 8,991.00. This car has only 49,500 miles and points to a manufacturing defect NOT standard wear and tear. Ford knew of this issue regarding thus 8-speed transmission.;
2020 FORD ESCAPE Complaints
White foggy smoke from exhaust. Backing sensor or driving sensor are off when sensing environment. Car suspension not fully stable sorta drift to left or right.;
2020 FORD TRANSIT CONNECT Complaints
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Transit Connect. The contact stated that while attempting to pull into a parking lot, the brakes locked up. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that several attempts were made to forcefully engage and unlock the brakes. After restarting the vehicle, there was a burning odor coming from the brakes. The contact stated that the brakes slowly released after the vehicle was turned off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the valve assembly modulator had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,484.;
2020 LINCOLN CORSAIR Complaints
Hello. I recently had to pay CarMax $1,083 to replace my right rear (tailgate mounted) turn signal assembly. CarMax said the issue was due to a seal failing on the light assembly which allowed water to enter the unit and short out the LED unit. The same issue occured for 2024-25 Corsairs and was addressed by the NHTSA Campaign 25V688 / Ford Recall 25C53 and Lincoln. Can the NHTSA force a recall on earlier models since my 2020 Corsair has the exact same issue? It's unbeleivable that I was faced with an $1,100 bill for my tail lights not working when the problem was due to poor engineering. Can the NHTSA help me with recovering any of my expenses for this repair? Thank you.;
2020 LINCOLN NAUTILUS Complaints
Hennessey Lincoln in Atlanta repaired my car in June 2026. My Torque converter needed to be replaced. My car was there over 20 days. Two weeks after getting it back from shop it started jerking and smoking. It needed another torque converter replacement. Two weeks after getting this car back it did the same thing again. I contacted Ford Warranty they did not help. Lincoln iin Michigan did not attempt to help. I couldn't even get the car in the shop for repair because of lack of employees that work on transmissions and no loaner cars.;
