General Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV and 2021 GMC Canyon and Sierra 1500

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV and 2021 GMC Canyon and Sierra 1500, 2500 and 3500, Yukon, Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV and Chevrolet Blazer, Camaro, Colorado, Equinox, Silverado 1500, 2500 and 3500, Suburban and Tahoe vehicles. Incorrect bolts may have been used at one or more fastening locations to secure the seat belts to the vehicle. If an incorrect bolt was used, the seat belt may not be properly attached to the vehicle.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 470 units affected.

Description:: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV and 2021 GMC Canyon and Sierra 1500, 2500 and 3500, Yukon, Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV and Chevrolet Blazer, Camaro, Colorado, Equinox, Silverado 1500, 2500 and 3500, Suburban and Tahoe vehicles. Incorrect bolts may have been used at one or more fastening locations to secure the seat belts to the vehicle. If an incorrect bolt was used, the seat belt may not be properly attached to the vehicle.
Consequeces:: If a seat belt assembly is not properly attached to the vehicle, the seat belt may not properly restrain an occupant in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the suspect bolts, free of charge. The recall began January 29, 2021. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8785, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N202322230.

2020 CHEVROLET BOLT EV Complaints
Steering rack is starting to fail at under 47000 miles, car pulls to right during acceleration and pulls left when decelerating. Steering wheel does not return to the center and a slight left pull on the wheel has to be maintained at all times so the car doesn't merge right into traffic. It is available upon inspection request. I almost didn't realize it pulling to the right and almost merged into another car on the highway. It has not been confirmed yet by a third party. It has not been inspected yet. No warning lights or messages occured when it started happening.;
2021 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV Complaints
While driving out of state the engine started knocking- I took it to the dealer before it left me stranded on the road. I was told the engine had failed and needed to be replaced.;
2021 CADILLAC ESCALADE NA Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the message "Service Transmission Now - Unable to Shift Soon" was displayed. The vehicle was later driven to the local dealer however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.;
2021 CHEVROLET BLAZER Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle stalled and was unable to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The husband was a mechanic and discovered the 350-amp fuse failure. The fuse was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by phone. The failure mileage was approximately 68,400.;
2021 CHEVROLET CAMARO Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the wheels locked up and the vehicle stopped abruptly. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle lost electric power and shut off. The vehicle was restarted. The contact attributed the failure to the internal transmission control valve (TCV). The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V148000 (Power Train). The vehicle stalled on several occasions while driving. The contact initially dismissed the intermittent stalling because the vehicle temporarily returned to normal operation. The contact stated that the check engine light occasionally illuminated, and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with transmission control module failure. The vehicle restarted independently, and the code was erased. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced.;
