General Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, Silverado 3500, GMC Sierra 2500, and Sierra 3500 vehicles with electronic brake control modules (EBCM) replaced during vehicle assembly. The bolts that attach the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly may not be properly tightened, which could fail to seal the two sub-assemblies and allow water intrusion.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 3,241 units affected.

Description:: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, Silverado 3500, GMC Sierra 2500, and Sierra 3500 vehicles with electronic brake control modules (EBCM) replaced during vehicle assembly. The bolts that attach the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly may not be properly tightened, which could fail to seal the two sub-assemblies and allow water intrusion.
Consequeces:: Water in the BPMV may cause an electrical short circuit and increase the risk of fire.
Corrective action:: Owners are advised to park outside and away from other structures until the recall repair is completed. Dealers will replace the BPMV assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on October 20, 2021. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N212349181.

2022 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 Complaints
The vehicle will not allow the truck to be turned off everytime, it states the truck must be in park to be turned off, and the truck is in park. The engine lost power and staleld twice, and loses accelerator power multiple times. The transmission has dis-engaged 3 times. All of this since July 2026. The truck has 54,000 miles on it.;
2022 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 3500 Complaints
When shutting the vehicle off, I repeatedly get a “shift to park” error message. The truck will not shut down fully until this message goes away and can drain the battery. I have read this is a common Chevy problem in other models and others who I have talked to have the same issue. The local dealer wanted $170 just to scan it even though I feel they know the issue. The problem started right after the warrant expired and GM sent through a “software push notification” with no explanation what it was for. This feels too coincidental for me and GMs response was to take it to the dealer, not covered by warranty.;
2022 GMC SIERRA 2500 Complaints
The Exhaust Pressure Differential Sensor Pipe (boost pipe) blew off while towing a heavy trailer uphill on a busy interstate. I had to cross 3 lanes of traffic to get as far as possible off the road. The truck was sent into limp mode and would barely crawl. Our lives were put at risk of being hit by the many tractor trailers traveling that highway, or another driver traveling at high speeds. The truck was eventually towed to the nearest GM dealer for service. The pipe was replaced, but the faulty one was not kept on hand. The repair was not covered by GM. The extended warranty covered the pipe repair only, with out of pocket still being over $400. There were no warning lights on the dash until after the pipe blew off and the truck was thrown into limp mode. This is a known problem with these diesel engines, for years, yet nothing has been done by GM to fix the problem. Owners are replacing with aftermarket parts because the factory parts won't hold up. This damaged the DPF and DEF system as a result. The replacement parts are listed in my owners manual under the 5 year/100000 mile powertrain warranty, yet the claim was denied by GM. There are forum after forum with these failures for the past 15 15 years or more, yet nothing has been done to fix the problem and owners are put at risk of injury or death. When the dealer replaced the part, it was disposed of so no inspection could be made by anyone else to determine if it was defective.;
2022 GMC SIERRA 3500 Complaints
The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated before going into LIMP Mode. A dealer was contacted. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed with transmission control valve failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V797000 (POWER TRAIN); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000.;
