Navistar, Inc. is recalling certain 2025 International HV

Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2025 International HV, HX, LT, MV, and RH vehicles. The tie rod assemblies may contain ball studs that have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 573 units affected.

Description:: Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2025 International HV, HX, LT, MV, and RH vehicles. The tie rod assemblies may contain ball studs that have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure.
Consequeces:: Tie rod failure can cause a loss of vehicle steering control and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the tie rod end and re-align the front axle, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 9, 2024. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 24511.

2025 INTERNATIONAL LT Complaints
The contact was the operator of a 2025 International LT62F company vehicle. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving with another truck in front of the vehicle that was attempting to slow down from at least 200 feet away, the automatic braking system erroneously activated, causing a false positive reaction with the brakes warning system detecting a possible crash with a brick wall, causing the Autonomous Braking and Lane Assist system to slam on the brakes of the tractor and the trailer. The contact stated that the force caused the vehicle to slide to the left, with the momentum of the trailer being hauled. There was no accident reported. The contact sustained a strain of the right shoulder from the seat belt locking. Medical attention was not required. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and the contact was advised that the radar was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 101,185.;
2025 INTERNATIONAL MV Complaints
Truck is unsafe at highway speeds shaking violently and making lane changes scary and sways too much shakes at 65-70 and can’t see clearly out mirrors or concentrate as it sways from side to side at lane changes. Replaced new tires with new tires. Driveshaft service and alignments and balancing. No help. Dealer said to complain to factory and stopped working on it saying I should trade it off since it’s a lemon.;
