we installed this seat rear facing for our 1yr old, after using for a month or so we realized the seat did not lock into position while rear facing. the seat would slide and be in an un safe recline position for the size of our child and the seat in our suv. we took the seat out to inspect and noticed it does not lock into place underneath where it is supposed to. we decided to turn it forward facing and try that as we have no other seat. our 20month old can un clip the chest clip and take her arms out. we tried tightening the harness but you can barely get it to move to get tighter. this seat needs to be investigated and recalled before someone's child is seriously hurt. we our in the process of trying to get our money back and they are well aware of these issues and try to make an excuse for them.

The carseat will not lock into the base proper in any recline position except 1. 1 is supposed to be for a newborn. When you place the seat (till you hear it "lock" into place per the manual and a CPST) in 2, 3, or 4 then the seat drops down into the 1 position while driving down the road. We've contacted evenflo repeatedly and no help from them. Now it's to the point it doesn't even lock into 1. We've had this seat since Jan 17, 2023. I have checked online and am able to find 30+ reviews of parents with the same issue across reddit, Amazon, and Walmart. A recall on the seat needs issued immediately. This has been going on since Jan 21st, 2023.

The car seat has 6 recline positions on it. My child had outgrown the 1 position and needed to go to the 2. Two car seat technicians were helping me fix it, and we realized that the seat will not lock in any of the recline positions except for 1, 5, and 6. If it is in 2, 3, or 4, it slides down to the 1 position. I still have the car seat in my possession. The seat has only been inspected by 2 car seat technicians.

The base of the carseat does not stay locked into position. it freely slides from 5-1 and back. i have video footage showing the carseat rocking forward and backwards when locked. this puts a child at risk for positional asphyxiation and at risk for severe injury or death in the event of an accident. evenflo is refunding the money for both of the carseats that i bought in the beginning of august and refused to replace with the same carseat. there are other reviews online that said this is a common occurence. these seats should be recalled. i drove around without knowing they were damaged for a month with my 2 yo and almost 1 yo.

I was attempting to adjust the recline angle on the car seat in my husband’s car to match on daughter new weight category of over 20 pounds. When I went to adjust it I realized it only locks in positions 1 and 5. Neither of these is the appropriate angle. I have contacted the manufacturer. I have also learned apparently this is a common and know problem with this car seat model and the manufacturer is aware and has taken no action. This failure to lock is placing children at risk and could cause injury if the seat were involved in an accident.

I have two of the same model car seat for both my wife's and my cars. In the rear facing position, neither car seat locks into the set recline position. Instead it clicks out of what we set it at and slides all the way to the #1 position which is the most reclined. This seems to be a major safety issue and suspiciously Evenflo has discontinued this model which is a somewhat new model. Upon looking up recent online reviews, it seems that many parents have this same issue and significant safety concern. This car seat needs to be investigated ASAP and possibly recalled.

The seat does not lock into the different recline positions. When moved into a different recline position, the seat can move into the other recline positions. The harness straps are also impossible to tighten, so they never get tight enough. We have completely removed the seat and replaced it after one 1 use. We purchased the car seat from Target and there are multiple reviews saying this seat should be recalled. I tried reaching out to Evenflo about the issue, but they never responded.

My one year old is able to press the chest clip and it unlatches. So now the only thing holding him is the buckle. He has been able to undo the chest clip. While driving in traffic. This should not happen. Could be terrible danger if got in a car accident.

Our 11 month old can simply press the chest clip and it opens. It is a safety hazard. She does it while we’re in traffic and she’s only secured with the bottom buckle. The chest clip comes opens by the child we just strapped in for safety, at 11 months old. She should not be able to un clip This This happens repeatedly.

Recline does not stay put into selected position. Piece under leg area of base slides out of desired slot, causing the car seat to slide forward on the base beyond the desired recline setting selection, for example, from '3' to '2', or from '4' to '3'. I have video of this occurring that I'm unable to attach but can send upon request.
